Leon SEAT Compact Photos Geneva Motor Show
The Seat León SC is spotted in Zaragoza

The brotherhood members who were rehearsing on the Expo de Zaragoza grounds yesterday afternoon for the Holy Week processions had a surprise companion. The Seat León SC was being photographed a few metres from them on the footbridge leading to the Torre del Agua. It was the photo shoot for the new three-door body that the Spanish compact will debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
Highmotor was there, and we can offer you first impressions of the vehicle in person. For example, the León SC, although it is not quite as bold as the IBE prototype suggested at the same Swiss show three years ago, does look different from the five-door. Losing the two rear doors has given it a more sporty appearance.

This accentuated trait is noticeable in the longer side doors, which give the body more pleasing proportions. The steeper rake of the rear (whose glass is distinguished by its pentagonal shape), 19 degrees steeper than that of the five-door León, also helps. The FR trim fitted to the unit used in the photo shoot gave it a final touch of playfulness. Without much imagination, one can sense that even in the most basic version, the Reference, the design keeps that extra youthful appeal the León was missing.
Other things we could check in person are that the cabin remains practically the same as that of the body already known. The exception is the new folding front seats. These allow easier access to the rear seats, which are still large enough for adults, although not as spacious as those of the five-door León. We had the chance to see them in “action”, since the unit in the shoot was used to store photographic equipment.

The same goes for the boot, whose volume has not changed from the original 380 litres. That figure is higher than that of rivals such as the Renault Mégane Coupé (344 litres) or the Opel Astra GTC (370 litres). We also note that the León SC has a wheelbase 35 millimetres shorter than that of the León known until now. Its launch will take place this spring, but we will be able to confirm more details in our coverage of the Geneva Motor Show within a month. Here are the photographs.
