The Skoda Octavia RS goes through the hands of ABT to receive an upgrade in both performance and output, reaching 315 CV of power

Many creations have come out of ABT’s facilities in Germany, such as the Audi TT RS Roadster, but this time it’s the Skoda Octavia RS’s turn to pass through the tuner’s hands. This Czech saloon with sporting aspirations has undergone a very notable transformation since its first generation, but even so, they wanted to take it further.

As standard, the Octavia RS has a 2.0 TFSI engine under its bonnet, producing 230 CV and 350 Nm of torque. These figures allow it to reach 0-100 km/h in 7 seconds, a very respectable result.

But ABT’s engineers decided that this was not enough, so they took the Octavia RS into their operating theatre, aiming to obtain better performance and greater output. To carry out this task, the German company has installed a control module in the engine, raising the initial figures to 315 CV / 450 Nm, leaving the RS 245 in the shade.

But raw power is not the only thing that matters in this type of tuning, so, to obtain optimal performance, ABT has also modified the suspension. They have lowered the Octavia RS by 20 mm compared to the original height, improving cornering and giving it a more sporty look.

Although the saloon does not show many changes in terms of styling, the Germans did not want to leave this aspect aside. To give it a personal touch, ABT has fitted new wheels with a custom and more aggressive design. Thanks to these minimal details, the Octavia RS keeps its original philosophy: a discreet and versatile saloon with great potential inside.

For the moment ABT has made no statements about its performance or how much we will have to pay for the Sportsline version. But considering the base price of an Octavia RS, €25,710, the extra cost of this new modification will position the Octavia as a strong rival to vehicles with similar performance and higher prices.

News of this new version puts its main rivals under pressure, especially considering they belong to the same family. With the performance boost after passing through ABT’s hands, the Octavia RS positions itself above the Golf R and the Audi S3 in terms of performance, and has the audacity to challenge the new Audi S4 and other vehicles in the segment.
