The Toyota Proace and Proace City are updated with an emphasis on their technology and electric versions
Toyota gives the Proace and Proace City a facelift, both in their commercial version and as the Verso for passengers, along with new technologies and greater range

The Toyota Professional range embraced electrification some time ago, paving the way first with the Proace in its cargo version and the Proace Verso in its passenger version, before, a few months later, continuing down that path with the small Proace City and the Proace City Verso, which has already been on the Spanish market for a couple of years. Now the full range of both vans receives an update, focusing especially on improving their technology and electric powertrains.
Toyota Proace
Whether it is the Toyota Proace or the Proace Verso, both receive a cosmetic update that focuses mainly on the front end, with a nose where the upper grille is removed and the light signature is updated of the optical group, while at the bottom there is now a large air intake with a horizontal slatted grille that enhances the impression of greater width.

As you know, the Toyota commercial range is based on the vans of the Stellantis group, so its interior is also renewed along the same lines. In the technology section there is now a new 10-inch touchscreen, except in the basic version, whose screen is 5 inches; the same applies to the instrument panel, with the 10-inch digital unit reserved for the top trims. That said, all of them have USB-C ports for data and charging, as well as connectivity via Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

As for the engines, the major novelties are reserved for the electric variants of the Toyota Proace. It now features a new 136 CV (100 kW) electric motor, together with a new connector and a modified fuse box for the lithium-ion battery, so that with the 75 kWh battery the range is increased by 20 kilometres to reach 350 kilometres according to the WLTP test cycle, and it can then be charged in 45 minutes using a DC fast-charging socket. The 50 kWh battery also remains available as an option.
Obviously, if our needs do not call for the electric version, we can still opt for the familiar diesel engines, consisting of the 2,000 cc unit with a power output of 145 CV paired with a six-speed manual gearbox or, alternatively, the 1,500 cc unit offering 120 CV.
Toyota Proace City

As with the Toyota Proace, the Proace City and Proace City Verso also lose their upper grille, which is now a full panel separating the new optical group, although for the small Toyota van a trapezoidal lower grille has been adopted, its design taken from that of other models of the Japanese brand. Meanwhile, the interior also has a revamped design and the incorporation of new screens and digital instrument panels for the higher-spec models.

The small Proace City also receives the same technical updates for its electric version, so that, incorporating the updated 136 CV (100 kW) electric motor and retaining the 50 kWh battery, the range increases by 50 kilometres to reach 330 kilometres according to the WLTP test cycle. Using a 100 kW DC fast-charging system, the battery can reach 80% in 30 minutes.
Likewise, if we prefer the convenience of a diesel engine, we will have available the 1,500 cc unit in outputs of 100 CV or 130 CV, paired with a six-speed manual transmission or an eight-speed automatic.
Both improve in terms of safety

Regardless of which one we choose, both are now safer, fitting as standard systems that were previously offered only as options, such as the Pre-Collision System with Braking Assist, the Lane Departure Warning System with Steering Assist, automatic high beams and traffic sign recognition.

The active safety package now also offers adaptive cruise control available from 30 km/h and, optionally, with stop-and-go function, as well as intelligent adaptive speed control. Front side airbags have also been fitted, along with a collapsible steering column and reinforced structural components.
