The Volvo EX90 2026 can now be purchased and comes with greater battery load capacity.
The Volvo EX90 arrives in 2026 with new features, such as an 800-volt charging architecture and other updates that improve its handling and driving experience.

The Volvo EX90 has received an update to welcome the year 2026, and it is now available for reservations. It comes with several new features that will appeal to anyone who decides to buy one. The main new feature is that the brand has installed an 800-volt architecture, which allows the battery to charge faster and with higher charging power.
The previous version of the Volvo EX90 featured a 400-volt architecture, so it offers greater charging capacity, but also generates less heat during charging, which considerably reduces the charging time. The software has also been modified, so the battery now charges more efficiently.

This software was developed in Volvo, which allows the vehicle’s charging to be adjusted and optimized for fast and efficient charging. The algorithm this software uses allows it to work together with the 800-volt architecture and improve the charging process. As a result, the battery charges enough to travel 250 kilometers in about 10 minutes using a fast charger.
Another advantage of the 800-volt architecture is that it offers faster acceleration, and the energy is used more efficiently, which results in a higher range with the same battery capacity. In addition, it allows the battery to be redesigned so that it is lighter, which also influences the vehicle’s behavior.

In terms of aesthetics and functionality, the new Volvo EX90 has an electrochromic panoramic roof, which can be made more or less transparent according to the driver’s taste and needs. The roof can switch from transparent to completely opaque with the mere press of a button.

Another of the new features in the Volvo EX90 includes several safety alerts connected to slippery roads, road obstacles, and accidents on the route. It also integrates automatic emergency calling and an emergency stop assist.
This system, known as ESA, is designed to bring the vehicle to a controlled stop in its lane if the driver ignores warnings about hazards or if it detects that the driver has let go of the steering wheel. In this case, it understands that there has been an attention problem and acts to prevent accidents. After stopping, it automatically makes an emergency call, which connects to an emergency call center linked to Volvo Cars. Through this call, the call center staff can speak with the occupants and contact emergency services if necessary.
To complete the driver assistance systems, they have installed the extended emergency automatic steering function in darkness and the Park Assit Pilot, which allows parallel parking.
