This Lamborghini Diablo SV with only 1.8 kilometres on the clock could be yours

Half a million dollars is what this Canadian dealership is asking in exchange for a jewel that has been locked away for 17 years, the Lamborghini Diablo SV you see in the images.
This is one of the 200 units of the Lamborghini Diablo SV that were assembled. Its date of manufacture is 1999 and, since it left the factory, nobody has known what it is like to enjoy this unit at the controls on a mountain road or cruising at idle down the street, since its odometer reads just 1.8 kilometres. As you can see, its condition is impeccable for a 17-year-old car.
It may be your only chance to drive a supercar with the Diablo name, a supercar from the old school, an uncomfortable car that demands a great deal from whoever drives it. Moreover, it is a genuine collector’s piece because of its exclusivity; hence the selling point Lamborghini handling this car is asking $500,000 for it, which is roughly €440,000 at the current exchange rate.

I’m sure the following details about its mechanics will make your mouth water. The heart of this late-1990s Italian supercar is a naturally aspirated V12 with a displacement of 5.7 litres, producing no less than 536 horsepower and 605 Nm of torque. All this power is sent to the rear axle, but to do so you have to wrestle with a five-speed manual gearbox, with first gear selected by pushing backwards, by the way.
The car for sale already belongs to the final era of the Diablo, so it is a post-restyling unit. It therefore has fixed headlights instead of the pop-up ones of earlier versions, different fog lights and slightly more power.
You should also know that the model the Lamborghini Diablo replaced in the 1990s was none other than the Lamborghini Countach. At the start of the new millennium, the Diablo left the catalogues, replaced by the Murciélago, by which time the company founded by Ferruccio was already managed by the executives of the German Volkswagen Group.
