The Alfa Romeo is present in the European market and they have just presented a new version with 48-volt mild hybridisation and four-wheel drive.

Alfa Romeo Junior Q4 2025 1

The Alfa Romeo Junior is increasingly present in the European market, and there are now four versions available to enjoy it. The latest of them has just been presented, the Alfa Romeo Ibrida Q4. This model aims to offer more complete features than those of the previous variants.

This version features a turbocharged 1.2-litre combustion engine, which delivers 136 CV and is complemented by a 48-volt mild hybrid system. This consists of two 21 kW electric motors that provide extra thrust and generate energy for the 48-volt hybrid system.

In total, the three motors deliver a combined output of 145 CV, so it offers a fairly intense driving experience with a spicy edge for those behind the wheel. The variable torque distribution to all four wheels ensures very balanced traction so that it can handle any terrain, whether tarmac or off-road conditions.

As a detail, we found that the rear motor has a torque of 1,900 Nm, which guarantees good grip in many situations, even complicated and difficult ones. The electric motors allow the Alfa Romeo Junior Ibrida Q4 to offer the possibility of short trips in electric mode, as long as it is driven at low speed.

This model is equipped with the Power Looping function, which keeps four-wheel traction always active. Even if the battery level is low, the combustion engine can generate the energy needed to keep the rear axle running.

Another feature of the Alfa Romeo Junior Ibrida Q4 is the incorporation of the independent multi-link rear suspension, which has improved traction and ride comfort. This makes it more attractive for tackling more demanding routes and for driving in adverse weather conditions.

Four driving modes

The model’s DNA system offers four different driving modes:

  • Q4: Optimises traction, ideal for low-grip surfaces. Full traction is permanent up to 30 km/h and activates automatically up to 90 km/h.
  • Dynamic: This mode guarantees a sporty driving experience, with full traction in boost mode up to 40 km/h.

  • Natural: This mode is perfect for everyday use, with automatic activation of full traction up to 90 km/h.
  • Advanced Efficiency: With this one, consumption is reduced by regulating power output, and full traction is automatically activated up to 90 km/h.

The Alfa Romeo Junior Ibrida Q4 will be available at European dealerships from April 2025 onwards, and the price will be around 37,000 euros.
