Arctic Trucks makes its Prado AT37 turn the Toyota Land Cruiser into an even more rugged and capable machine
Arctic Trucks, the Toyota division in Iceland dedicated to conversions, unveils its Prado AT37: a Land Cruiser 250 built to tackle the most inhospitable terrain

In Iceland, where the terrain and weather conditions are especially demanding, off-road vehicles tend to be modified to make them even more capable of handling any condition, which is why there are aftermarket brands and shops dedicated to making them tougher. There are also brands associated with manufacturers, which ensures that parts fit perfectly and come with all the warranty standards.
In this last sense we find the brand Arctic Trucks, founded in 1990 as a specialist division of Toyota in Iceland. Over all this time it has built up a great level of experience in converting 4×4 vehicles, and obviously especially Toyota models, all within the setting of Iceland’s rugged landscape. Now, developed together with its Icelandic and British divisions, Arctic Trucks presents the Prado AT37, its reinterpretation of the new Toyota Land Cruiser 250.

Arctic Trucks has designed the Prado AT37 to be a vehicle that can be used day to day, so it is comfortable while still being able to tackle any type of terrain in any condition. To do this, it has been fitted with 37-inch tyres, and customers can choose between the All-Terrain T/A KO3 or Mud-Terrain T/A KM3 models from BFGoodrich, mounted on forged alloy wheels in the Heritage design, which has a retro look and is also equipped with dual valves to lower or raise tyre pressure more easily.

The “lift effect” created by such large, wide tyres is combined with a new suspension by R53 Suspension, specialists in equipment for the Dakar. This suspension is adjustable in two directions and raises the Prado AT37 by 40 mm compared with a standard Land Cruiser 250. It consists of monotube shock absorbers with high-strength hard-chrome-plated steel shafts, improved sealing for greater durability, combined springs and hydraulic bump stops.

Fitting these wider tyres has required modifications to the bodywork, such as widened wheel arches and mudguards that blend perfectly with the rest of the bodywork. A port has also been provided for the tyre pressure sensor and the central tyre inflation system. The exterior modifications don’t end there, as there are also aluminium side steps, while at the rear a 2-inch receiver hitch has been installed, allowing towbars, winches, steps, seats, roof racks, barbecues and many more accessories to be fitted quickly.

The changes conclude with various Arctic Trucks logos and, inside, custom floor mats, door sill protectors, and a personalised instrument cluster and gear selector.
The Arctic Trucks Prado AT37 will be available from the second quarter of 2025, either as a version supplied by the official dealer or as a direct conversion for the customer in Europe, North America, the Middle East and Africa.
