Following the release of the latest teaser previews, the latest creation from Bentley Mulliner has finally been revealed: a luxury-laden grand touring coupé that unveils the new design DNA that future models from the British brand will carry.

It is called the Bentley Mulliner Batur, and only 18 units will be produced, reserved for Mulliner customers, who will be able to enjoy an endless list of options, including parts made from titanium, natural fibre components and even 18-carat gold printed in 3D.

Presented at Monterey Car Week, the Batur is not simply the successor to the Bacalar; it is a very important car for Bentley, since according to Adrian Hallmark, President and CEO of the brand, this new model shows the design direction the company will take in the future as it develops its range of BEVs.

The new face of the brand

The new Mulliner Batur was the work of Andreas Mindt and his team, and boasts a long bonnet and a silhouette crafted to give the impression that the vehicle sits planted over the rear axle. In addition, a new grille debuts, lower and more vertical, lending it greater presence, along with new headlights that abandon the traditional round shape, and new rear lights positioned on either side of a deployable spoiler.

According to Bentley, paint options are virtually endless thanks to Mulliner’s colour palette, bespoke paint options and even hand-painted graphics. The exterior gloss configuration can be gloss or satin, bright or dark, or even in titanium.

The wheels on which the new Batur sits are 22-inch, which in Black Crystal colour with machined and polished bright surfaces sit perfectly alongside the aerodynamic add-ons: the front splitter, side skirts or rear diffuser, which can be chosen in carbon fibre or in the new sustainable natural fibre composite developed by the brand.

An interior in the purest Bentley Mulliner style

Inside, the new Bentley Mulliner has two seats and generous space for comfortable long-distance travel. Among the sustainable material options for its interior, Bentley offers customers a low-carbon leather sourced from Scotland, a sustainably tanned leather from Italy in five different colours, or a suede-like sustainable material called Dinamica.

For its presentation unit, the Batur is upholstered in a combination of black, red and orange, with hand-embroidered stitching in Snap Orange thread on the outer wings of the seats, and white for the rest of the interior.

The instrument panel and door trim are finished in glossy black, complemented by a sound wave laser-engraved onto the dashboard that represents the sound generated by its W12 engine. For the metal parts, a combination of black anodised aluminium and satin titanium has been chosen, completed by an 18-carat gold selector.

The most powerful in history

Under its bonnet lies a spectacular 6.0-litre W12 engine that produces more than 740 CV and 1,000 Nm of torque, paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, along with a sports titanium exhaust tasked with delivering the sublime roar of its 12 cylinders.

With all this, the Bentley Mulliner Batur becomes the most powerful and modern Bentley in history, as it debuts adaptive suspension that changes its behaviour according to the selected driving mode (Sport, Bentley, Comfort and Custom), the Drive Dynamics Control system that can provide up to 1,300 Nm of anti-roll torque in 0.3 seconds, and the eLSD electronic limited-slip differential for ideal cornering behaviour.

To stop such a machine, a CSiC (Carbon-Silicon-Carbide) braking system has been fitted, with 440 mm front discs with 10-piston calipers and 410 mm rear discs with four-piston calipers.

Its price starts from £1.65 million before taxes and options, so it will be very easy to surpass €2 million.
