BMW M5 CS: the most brutal and special saloon from Munich arrives with 635 CV
The most brutal sports saloon from BMW’s performance division has just been officially unveiled. This is the BMW M5 CS.

The Bavarian brand has just presented the new BMW M5 CS. This new beast from Munich comes with an impressive V8 engine and a power output of 635 CV. The images show the new bronze colour on the front grille and the 20-inch forged wheels. The new model also stands out for its front air intakes, carbon-ceramic brakes, red brake calipers and front light clusters that feature yellow accents, paying special tribute to the world of motorsport.

In addition, another novelty is its exclusive matt dark green colour called Brands Hatch Grey, although it is also available on the BMW Individual Frozen Brands Hatch Grey and Frozen Deep Green. On the sides, the M5 CS designation is integrated into the gills, along with other details in carbon fibre reinforced polymer. The bonnet, front apron, mirror housings, rear spoiler, diffuser, engine cover and air intake duct are also made of carbon fibre.
A true Bavarian beast with 635 CV
The interior features exclusive details that give it an extra touch of exclusivity and sportiness over the BMW M5 Competition. At first glance, the front seats stand out: M Carbon bucket seats with integrated headrests that reveal the silhouette of the Nürburgring circuit, along with the M5 logos. The rear seats are two individual bucket seats. All the seats are upholstered in black Merino leather with eye-catching contrasting trim and decorative stitching in Mugello Red.

The driver’s position is oriented towards the driving experience. The steering wheel features carbon fibre paddles, and its spokes have trims in Black Chrome. The armrest has been replaced by a fixed cover. Without a doubt, the model’s main strength is its 4.4-litre V8 Twin Power Turbo, capable of delivering 635 CV and a maximum torque of 750 Nm. Power reaches both axles through an eight-speed automatic gearbox and an all-wheel-drive system called M xDrive, which includes a rear-wheel-drive mode for the more adventurous, a variable M active differential and three driving modes: Road, Sport and Track.

This sports saloon has undergone a diet and has managed to shed 70 kg compared with the BMW M5 Competition. The model also features a stainless steel sports exhaust system linked to the M Sound Control function, which can alter the engine’s sound and response. This spectacular saloon can go from 0 to 100 km/h in under 3.0 seconds. It reaches 200 km/h in 10.4 seconds, and its top speed is electronically limited to 305 km/h. These figures are made possible by the adjustments engineers have made to the chassis, which includes bearings on the axle bushings and more refined damping control. Power reaches the tarmac through Pirelli P Zero Corsa tyres in a staggered fitment: 275/35 R20 on the front axle and 285/35 R20 on the rear axle.

We do not know whether it will be a limited edition, but the price may exceed that of the BMW M5 Competition by 20,000 euros. It will enter production during the coming March, with first deliveries taking place in mid-spring, and it will only be available for one year, until May 2022.
