Chevrolet Equinox Electric Cars SUV
Chevrolet Equinox, a compact electric SUV for the American market
The American market will receive Chevrolet’s new electric model in 2023, a compact SUV that will be presented in four versions and with a range of 480 km

The United States is not a country that stands out for electric models. Its market is dominated by very powerful vehicles that show off their strength on the country’s long highways. But little by little, manufacturers are offering more models with this type of drivetrain and, after several interesting proposals, Chevrolet is launching a new model, the Chevrolet Equinox.
This electric SUV will reach the American market at the end of 2023 and is based on the Ultium platform, a technological base that is already present in other electric vehicles from the brand. It can be found in the Chevrolet Blazer and the Chevrolet Silverado. It will be offered in front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions, so that it can be as practical as the user needs.

Exterior design
The exterior design of the Chevrolet Equinox is very striking and is led by a front fascia with LED headlights. In the high-end versions of the model, these headlights are joined by a line of LED lights, creating a unique light signature. Another eye-catching feature is the door handles, which are concealed and enhance the vehicle’s appearance.
The standard wheels are 19 inches in size, but buyers can opt for optional 20- and 21-inch wheels. The high-end versions will have exclusive elements, although the brand has not yet wanted to detail these improvements. It is known that the 2LT version will be available with a white roof, and other versions will feature a black hood and a roof of the same color.

Battery and motors
Chevrolet will offer several electric powertrains, with batteries adapted to the needs of each version. The entry level will be the 1LT, which will be available with both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. Buyers who choose this one can select between a standard battery or one with extended range.
The front-wheel-drive versions use a single motor. This delivers a power of 157 kW, equivalent to 213 CV. Those with all-wheel drive incorporate a second motor on the rear axle, which increases the power to 216 kW, that is, 294 CV. Range starts at 402 kilometers on a single charge.
If the extended-battery option is chosen, 483 kilometers of range can be achieved. When using all-wheel drive, the range can drop to 451 kilometers. The standard battery is limited to the entry-level trim, so the rest will come with the extended-range battery. And this option is only available with front-wheel drive.
The battery can be charged with chargers of up to 150 kW, which means that with every ten minutes of charging, owners can gain around 113 kilometers of range. Owners of this new electric model will have access to the Ultium Charge 360 charging network, which has 110,000 stations across the country and Canada.
The price of the Chevrolet Equinox will be around 30,000 dollars and for now it will be available only in the American market, although it could reach other countries depending on the brand’s strategies, which contemplate returning to Europe with some of its models.
