Dacia, market leader in LPG with 1,000,000 units sold. What makes its ECO-G100 technology unique?

Dacia leads the European LPG market with a 67% share, offering its customers accessible and environmentally friendly technology across its entire range, from the Sandero to the Duster

Dacia continues to set the trend in the European market with its innovative offer of dual fuel engines (petrol and LPG), reaching an impressive milestone: 1 million vehicles sold with this technology since 2010. The brand, part of the Renault group, has established itself as the absolute leader in the European LPG market, with a 67% share as of the end of July 2024. Almost 40% of Dacia customers have opted for ECO-G100 vehicles, which combine petrol and LPG, thanks to their reliability, cost savings and respect for the environment.

What makes ECO-G100 technology unique?

The ECO-G100 is a dual-fuel engine that delivers more power than its petrol-only equivalent, offering 10 more horsepower (100 hp in total) and 10 Nm of extra torque. At the same time, it consumes 10% less fuel and reduces CO2 emissions by 10%, which contributes to a smaller carbon footprint and a 90% reduction in fine particles in the air.

This technology has been refined over more than 14 years and comes factory-fitted, which guarantees that these vehicles keep the reliability and robustness typical of Dacia, backed by the experience of the Renault group. In addition, models with LPG do not sacrifice interior space, since the tank is located in the spare wheel compartment, leaving the boot and the petrol tank intact. And like all Dacia vehicles, ECO-G100 models come with a 3-year or 100,000 km warranty.

Economic and environmental benefits

One of the greatest attractions of this engine is the savings in day-to-day use. In many countries, LPG is considerably cheaper than petrol. For example, in France it costs up to 40% less than unleaded 95 petrol, which can mean savings of around 40 euros per full refuel.

As well as being economical, Dacia’s dual-fuel vehicles allow their owners to access tax incentives, such as lower environmental taxes, incentives to change vehicle and, in some cases, full or partial exemptions from registration taxes.

Unbeatable versatility and range

The Dacia dual system lets drivers switch manually between petrol and LPG, or let the vehicle do it automatically when the LPG tank runs out. With two independent tanks, each with a capacity of approximately 50 litres, ECO-G100 vehicles can reach a range of up to 1,500 km, offering the comfort of long journeys without having to refuel frequently.

With more than 1 million LPG vehicles sold, Dacia remains the benchmark in a constantly evolving market.
