Dahler wants the M240i xDrive to make you forget the M2 thanks to its updates
The new BMW M240i xDrive has passed through Dahler’s workshops to leave them with a discreet look and a power output that places it above the M2 CS

Last summer BMW unveiled the second generation of the Serie 2 Coupé, a model that has been profoundly redesigned but that still seeks to preserve the purest essence of BMW for this small sports car, without forgetting the high performance that is yet to come with the M2 version. While the latter is on its way to the brand’s range, several tuners want to make the wait shorter, taking the M240i xDrive as their base.
For now, until the M2 arrives, the high-performance version available for the new Serie 2 is the M240i xDrive, a version that almost at the end of last year already went through Manhart’s workshops to considerably increase its power, bringing it to the same level as the M2 CS. Now the Swiss company Dahler, a tuner specialised in BMW models, has dared to take on this model and has given it an extra turn of the screw , surpassing even the M2 CS.

But let’s start with the exterior. Although it may not draw as much attention as Manhart’s preparation, Dahler has changed small details to give it their personal touch, although for the most part it remains the styling it comes with as standard. For now it is not yet available and will be released soon, but a front splitter will be available; what is available right now are some beautiful forged 20-inch wheels that reduce weight compared with the standard ones, fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres.

Mechanically is where the most exciting part of this preparation lies. Let’s remember that the BMW M240i xDrive comes as standard with the 3,000 cc inline six-cylinder engine delivering 374 CV together with 500 Nm of torque, paired with an eight-speed Steptronic Sport automatic gearbox, a combination that allows it to accelerate to 100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds. This same engine is also used in the M340i and M440i, models that have already passed through Dahler’s hands, so the power upgrades follow the same line.

In this way Dahler offers owners of the M240i a Stage 1 package that can raise its power to 430 CV together with torque that also increases to 610 Nm. If that still seems insufficient, we can opt for the Stage 2, which raises power to 454 CV and torque to 640 Nm, figures that place it above the M2 CS. To this we can add the option of fitting a new stainless steel exhaust line with ceramic-coated tailpipes, a Power Pedal Box for acceleration 10% faster, and new adjustable dampers that lower it even further from the ground.

Dahler offers all these parts individually, so we can buy whatever we want to modify. The control unit that increases the power of our BMW M240i xDrive costs 1,980 euros, the stainless steel exhaust line costs 3,250 euros, and for around 530 euros extra we can include the exhaust valves, while the suspension kit costs 360 euros. The Swiss tuner has already confirmed that it will soon announce further modifications for the M240i xDrive.
