DS Aero Sport Lounge, the French brand's electric prototype to be shown in Geneva

The French brand will present at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show an electric prototype that is meant to be the basis on which the design of its future models will be built

The Citroën spin-off brand is preparing all the novelties that will feature at the Geneva Motor Show and, after everything we have seen of the DS 9, another of those projects that DS will take to the Swiss event arrives. It is an electric prototype, so we will soon have an electrified model in the catalogue of this exclusive and very interesting French brand.

The DS Aero Sport Lounge breaks with the current aesthetics of models on the market and anticipates where the design language of DS may go. We are looking at an electric car, which already offers an image different from what we are used to. Obviously, it is a concept car, so there will be things that will never see the light of day in production models and others that will be an important part of future projects.

Futuristic exterior

The image offered by the DS Aero Sport Lounge is that of a futuristic vehicle, with a length of 5 metres that gives it an imposing and very striking presence. The roofline, which has a very pronounced slope, helps maintain good aerodynamics, and it is important to note the air intakes at the front, which channel airflow towards the imposing 23-inch wheels.

The grille, which is closed because it is an electric vehicle that does not need cooling like a combustion-engined vehicle, houses several sensors, radar and cameras for the driver assistance systems. The LED headlights and daytime running lights also offer a different and attractive look, a light signature that may feature on upcoming models.

As for the electric powertrain, which is what really matters in this model, it consists of a 110 kWh battery pack. The battery sits in the floor and feeds a motor that delivers 500 kW of power, equivalent to 680 CV. Range reaches 680 kilometres, and the acceleration this motor achieves allows it to go from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds. For now, we have little more than these images. In a few days we will have more information, once it is presented at the Geneva Motor Show.
