Golf R500, by Oettinger, with 518 CV

On the occasion of the annual celebration of one of the most important tuning and modification gatherings in the world, at Wörthersee, Oettinger wanted to present a real eye-opener.
We are talking about the Golf R500, a “brute force” interpretation of the technical capabilities that the chassis of the current Golf VII can offer.
Aesthetically, the R500 comes with an image that leaves no one indifferent, thanks to a body kit on par with those of the great tuners. The Golf has a much more aggressive look thanks to the new bumpers, greater width from the widened wheel arches, orange-painted details and larger alloy wheels.
The exterior styling is completed by a carefully crafted rear end, to which a new exhaust system with a central trapezoidal outlet and a large diffuser with aerodynamic function have been added.

Inside, the changes are more “subtle”, as they do not affect the main structure of the dashboard. The trim now has a “stickerbomb” finish, consisting of a combination of hundreds of small black and white stickers. Orange details have been added, along with certain parts covered in Alcantara, such as the steering wheel airbag cover and the gear lever knob.
Mechanically, Oettinger has decided to discard the 2.0 TSI four-cylinder that originally powers the Golf R, instead using the engine from the Audi RS3, a 2.5 TFSI five-cylinder which, while in the four-ring compact it delivers 365 CV, in this very special version of the Golf rises to a not-to-be-sniffed-at figure of 518 CV.

Combined with an all-wheel-drive system, the Golf R500 is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds, also reaching a top speed exceeding 300 km/h. All this at a price of around €150,000, and it will also be a limited-run production.
