More sportiness? Meet the new Renault Megane R.S Ultime
The Renault Megane R.S Ultime will be limited to 1,976 units and will deliver 300 CV.

The diamond brand has kicked off 2023 with plenty of new releases, but perhaps the one we’re going to tell you about today is the one you’ll like most of all. The French manufacturer intends to pay tribute to its already legendary compact sports saloon with a limited edition of the Renault Megane R.S. It is called Renault Megane R.S Ultime and brings to a close a prestigious saga that began in 2003.
The new model is based on the Renault Megane R.S Trophy and goes one step further. The brand itself has assured that it offers “a unique presentation and very complete equipment,” and it will be available from February, although it will have its official unveiling on January 13 during the Tokyo Motor Show. Furthermore, with this model the French manufacturer aims to close the story of Renault Sport, which began back in 1976, with genuine sporting feats.
The Renault Megane R.S Ultime will be limited to 1,976 numbered units, and they will be signed by Laurent Hurgón, the driver and tuning manager who helped set the track records of the Megane RS. In the future, Alpine will be the one to represent the group’s high-performance models.
Renault Megane R.S Ultime, a genuine jewel for collectors
The design is exclusive, although it features the double diamond inherited from Renault Sport, along with specific graphics inspired by the new logo of the French brand. This matt black decoration is present on the bonnet, roof, bumpers, doors and wings. The colour palette consists of four tones: gloss black, pearl white, racing yellow and tonic orange. In addition, one detail stands out notably: on the right-hand door you can read the year Renault Sport was founded: 1976.

Compared with other Megane R.S models, this latest version has front wings 60 mm wider, while the rear ones are 45 mm wider. Among other elements, the Megane R.S Ultime fits R.S Vision headlights, a central exhaust, a shark-fin antenna, a spoiler and a functional rear diffuser. In addition, the logos, door handles, window surrounds, wheels, trim pieces and other elements have been finished in black.
Once inside, the new Megane features Recaro bucket seats upholstered in Alcantara. The keycard for opening and starting follows the same pattern that decorates the bodywork. Furthermore, behind the gear selector you will find a numbered plate that marks the exclusivity of this sports car. Equipment highlights include a 9.3″ screen with integrated navigation, Bose sound system, 10″ digital instrumentation, the R.S. Monitor telemetry app, adaptive cruise control and parking aids. The options list is limited to a head-up display, a sunroof and a specific cover, which will delight enthusiasts who opt for this genuine collector’s piece.
As for power, the limited version fits the turbocharged four-cylinder engine that delivers 300 CV and a maximum torque of 420 Nm. It is paired with an EDC dual-clutch automatic gearbox and a Torsen mechanical differential. It is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds.
