New Mercedes-AMG GLC Coupé: two versions, up to 680 CV of power and greater dynamism
The coupé version of the popular SUV from the star brand has just made its debut with two available models, the most powerful four-cylinder engine in the world and a renewed look

Following the recent presentation of the new Mercedes-AMG GLC just a couple of months ago, the star brand returns once again with its GLC as the protagonist, but this time, with its Coupé version as the major novelty, completing the popular SUV range in the mid-size segment from Mercedes-AMG.
Starting first with its aesthetic side, the new GLC Coupé continues to maintain the proportions and muscular surfaces that have always set it apart, beginning with the sporty silhouette marked by a smooth transition towards the rear, the flush wheels available in 19, 20 or 21 inches, or the sporty side skirts that give the whole a more sporty and elegant appearance.

A more sporty look
If we look at the new star coupé SUV from the front, the front light units that connect with the new AMG radiator grille, with a vertical slat design, emphasize the width of the vehicle, supported by a front splitter AMG with a jet wing design at its ends, bumpers with larger air intakes, and pronounced side fins.
The rear of the new GLC Coupé features two-piece rear light clusters very similar to those of the standard GLC, joined by a black and dark red insert, a diffuser that is more or less aggressive depending on whether it is a GLC 43 or a GLC 63 S, and dual round exhaust outlets for the GLC 43 and trapezoidal ones for the top-of-the-range model.

Carbon and the latest quality materials
Moving to the cabin of the new model, we find AMG seats in ARTICO/MICROCUT leather-look as standard equipment, and an AMG Performance steering wheel in Nappa leather for the GLC 43, or in MICROCUT Nappa leather-look/microfibre for the GLC 63 S, also standard.
As optional equipment, the star brand offers AMG Performance seats and upholstery in leather and Nappa with the AMG emblem embossed on the headrests of the front seats.

Systems focused on track use
As for its multimedia features, the new GLC Coupé incorporates the MBUX infotainment system along with AMG-specific functions such as Supersport mode, which offers the possibility of displaying different vehicle information in a vertical structure that is easy for the driver to view.
In addition, on the GLC 63 S as standard equipment and on the GLC 43 as an option, the AMG TRACK PACE is included, a data-logging system designed for the track that allows monitoring of speed, acceleration, steering angle, lap times and sector times, or access to various training and analysis tools.

Fully electrified
The mechanical range of the new Mercedes-AMG GLC Coupé consists of two variants, one with mild hybridisation of 48 V (for the GLC 43 Coupé) and another with plug-in hybridisation (for the GLC 63 S).
Both variants feature the 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine from Mercedes, which develops 421 CV of power for the GLC 43 4MATIC Coupé and 680 CV of power for the GLC 63 S E PERFORMANCE Coupé.

Technology inherited from F1
Despite having a plug-in hybrid variant, both versions carry the ECO environmental label from the DGT, since the GLC 63 S is only capable of offering a range of 12 kilometres, which makes it very clear that its electric motor has been incorporated to deliver the greatest possible driving experience, not practicality.
With all this, Mercedes-AMG has announced that the first units of its coupé variant of the GLC will be available at its dealerships throughout 2024, so we will have to wait to learn more specific details.
