New Porsche 911 GT3 RS: a synonym for competition
Leaving home in the new Porsche 911 GT3 RS will be an adrenaline shot. And no wonder: it produces 520 CV from a weight of just 1,430 kilos.
Porsche takes advantage of the Geneva Motor Show 2018 to present the most performance-oriented model of the new 911 generation. A spectacular Porsche GT3 911 RS that gains 20 CV over its predecessor thanks to a tuning setup based on competition. Orders can already be placed in Spain with a final price of 224,171 euros.

Porsche GT3 RS: more wood
The last Porsche GT3 had already reached 500 CV in the 2017 generation. It was therefore inevitable that the RS version of the Stuttgart sports car would surpass that barrier. And to our delight, the new German machine reaches 520 CV. A further twist on the boxer engine it leaves the factory with, ready to give all its love to the rear axle.
This naturally aspirated 6-cylinder, 4-litre engine has been squeezed to develop that extra power, and now reaches a rev limit of 9,000 rpm. Unmatched power that will be paired with the seven-speed PDK gearbox. There is no manual option, but Porsche says this transmission has been specially tuned to achieve maximum performance.

Competition-grade tuning
In terms of performance, the Porsche GT3 RS accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and reaches a top speed of 312 km/h. Figures that put it at the front of the pack on the track. Yes, on the track. The GT3 RS’s setup was designed with competition in mind.
The chassis configuration has pursued maximum performance. The same goes for its bodywork, which has barely changed in order to maintain the aerodynamic level. The fixed rear wing, the low air dams and the air outlets are retained to help cool the front brake system.

What does change are the tyres. On the front axle, with 20-inch wheels, newly developed high-performance tyres in 265/35 sizes will be fitted. The rear axle comes with 21-inch wheels and 325/30 tyres.
Racing packages
And if you miss an extra touch of racing, Porsche offers two packages full of extras. The first of them, at no additional cost, is the Clubsport package. It includes roll bars, a fire extinguisher, preparation for a battery cut-off switch and a six-point harness.
But there’s more. Much more. Porsche has created the Weissach package. A kit of optional elements, at an extra cost, to appeal to the most demanding customers. They will be able to equip their GT3 RS with additional carbon components for the chassis, the cabin interior and the bodywork, as well as magnesium wheels. All of this to lighten the sports car, which can slim down to 1,430 kilos.

Now available
Pure competition with the new Porsche GT3 RS. It wins hearts inside and out, where its cabin is also designed for the track. Nothing that isn’t essential for driving, with bucket seats to secure the driver’s position. And the best part? Orders can already be placed in Spain. The first units will be delivered in April 2018 with a final price of 224,171 euros.
