Nissan GT-R NISMO: the most radical GT-R

The first images of this sports car have been leaked, and it threatens to be the highest point in the history of the GT-R. NISMO has taken the GT-R in hand after its successful interventions with the 370Z and the Juke, and has turned the GT-R into a true racing machine, one of those coupés that will surely be the object of desire for many.
There is no doubt that the engine is what stands out most in this GT-R Nismo. The twin-turbo 3.8-litre V6 now delivers 595 horsepower, 40 more than the previous model. The power improvements have focused on the intake and exhaust systems, plus more generous turbos derived from the GT3 model. According to the engineers at Nissan, they could still extract more power from the V6, but at the risk of damaging other components, such as the transmission.

The GT-R NISMO doesn’t stop here, and it will have more to offer. For example, a possible version with an optional package has been mentioned, which will be available to the public. The equipment of this new version is the same as the car that lapped the Nürburgring in under 7:10 a couple of months ago; it is based on a considerable weight reduction and the addition of aerodynamic accessories, together with possible control of the suspension settings from the cabin, with no changes to the engine.
Aesthetically it is much more aggressive than the standard model. At the front, finished in black and red, it will feature a modified front bumper and side air intakes for the brakes. The same colour combination continues on the new side skirts and on the rear diffuser, which has been completely redesigned in carbon fibre and incorporates the third brake light. Nissan says this spoiler produces 100 kilos of rear downforce at 300 km/h.
No prices have been announced yet, but the version with the track pack would cost around 150,000 euros in Europe. Tomorrow we will know many more details, when the Japanese brand presents it officially at the Tokyo Motor Show.
