Novitec increases the power of the Ferrari SF90 XX Stradale with just a small change

When a Ferrari model carries the letters XX in its name, it tells us we are not dealing with an ordinary vehicle, but more specifically a supercar created to deliver the maximum sportiness and radicalness of the Maranello brand. In 2023, however, Ferrari made an exception. That year they presented the SF90 XX Stradale together with its Spider variant, both models bearing the spectacular XX badge from Ferrari to give everything on the track while being homologated for road use.

Obviously the Ferrari SF90 XX has been developed and created by and for the track but, if you have a few spare euros to buy one of the 799 units of the Stradale version or one of the 599 units of the Spider version, it must surely be an experience to drive it to do your shopping or take it on mountain roads. If you are one of these lucky owners, perhaps the 1,030 CV of power it offers as standard will also still feel a little short, something you can remedy by turning to the experts at Novitec.

As you know, Novitec is a tuner specialised in Ferrari models, and the SF90 XX Stradale has also passed through its workshops to gain an extra boost of power. The SF90 XX Stradale comes as standard with a 4,000 cc V8 engine producing 797 CV, to which up to three electric motors are added, giving a combined total output of 1,030 CV that Novitec has managed to increase to 1,060 CV with a simple modification affecting the combustion engine.

To do this, Novitec’s experts have created a high-performance custom exhaust system with 100-cell metallic catalysts, all in stainless steel, although it can also be ordered in Inconel, a lightweight metal alloy used to make exhaust systems in Formula 1. This exhaust system achieves better flow of the exhaust gases for greater efficiency, and also offers better thermal insulation that reduces the temperature of the engine compartment for improved performance. These silencers can be ordered with or without electronic sound management via active-control butterfly valves and, in the Inconel version, with a 999 fine gold plating that helps dissipate heat even further.

Normally Novitec also aerodynamically improves the models that pass through its workshops, but in the case of the Ferrari SF90 XX Stradale the aero is so well resolved that they have left it untouched. For the exterior they only offer carbon-fibre mirror caps with visible weave and wheels in three designs and a wide range of finishes developed together with Vossen, in 21-inch size on the rear axle and 20-inch on the front, although the front can optionally also be ordered in 21 inches. The radical look is sharpened further thanks to new Novitec springs that lower the ride height by 25 mm on both axles and help achieve a lower centre of gravity.
