Peugeot 2008, facelift for the lion's smallest SUV

The Peugeot 2008 is the French brand’s bid for the B-SUV segment, one of the fastest-growing segments in Europe.
After almost three years on the market, racking up success after success, the 2008 now gets a thorough facelift that makes it even more attractive.
With more than 500,000 units produced annually, it is clear that the 2008 has been -and still is- a real sales success. The B-SUV segment is one of the most competitive and broadest in the market, with models such as the Nissan Juke and the Renault Captur, which makes its success all the more commendable.
The 2008 has always been characterised by a very personal design and a rather original interior, with innovative elements such as the dashboard layout with its raised instrument cluster, which Peugeot have chosen to call the Peugeot i-Cockpit, and which has become a hallmark of the French brand.

The people at Peugeot have decided to refresh the image of the 2008 with a facelift that we will be able to see at the Geneva Motor Show in just two weeks’ time. The bodywork is where the changes are most evident, with a more pleasing front end thanks to a redesigned grille and larger light units. The bumper is also new. The overall front end is more upright, which gives it greater visual robustness.
The side profile has been modified with the addition of a black-toned moulding at the height of the rear door, which makes its height appear greater than it really is. At the rear, the tailgate has a lower lip, just 60 cm from the ground, making loading and unloading even easier. The light units have been redesigned to look even more like those of other models in the range, such as the 308, 208 and 508, with those three characteristic vertical bars.
The 2008 gets a new trim level, the GT Line, which adds a sportier look to the small French SUV
Inside, the changes seem less evident, limited to an improved perception of quality in some materials. The general lines of the dashboard will therefore remain the same as those of the 208. Mechanically there are no changes either, with the four petrol options retained, with outputs between 82 and 130 CV, as well as the three diesel variants with 100 and 120 CV.
The 2008 will be sold in four trim levels: the three we knew until now -Access, Active and Allure- plus a more dynamic variant, the GT Line, already familiar from other models in the range. This version stands out from the rest thanks to elements such as 17-inch alloy wheels with a specific design, red colour accents on the bodywork, sports seats and red details on the stitching and seatbelts in the interior.
