Porsche 935: a spectacular new racing car
During the prestigious “Rennsport Reunion” event, Porsche unveiled the new 935. This is a 700 CV racing car with a body based on that of the legendary Porsche 935 from 1978.
The new Porsche 935 is presented as a non-homologated racing car. It references the bodywork used on the legendary Porsche 935 from 1978 and will have a total of 700 CV to enjoy on the track.
It will be limited to 77 units and its total price will be €701,498, which highlights the quality of the model and how special it is.

In the words of Frank Steffen, Vice President of Motorsport and GT Vehicles:
“This spectacular vehicle is a birthday gift that Porsche Motorsport is giving to fans around the world. Because the car is not homologated, engineers and designers have not had to comply with any regulations, which has given them complete freedom in its development.”
The technology of this vehicle is based on that of the 911 GT2 RS, a high-performance model. As it is a racing car, most of its bodywork has been complemented with carbon fibre composite parts.
It will feature top-level aerodynamics. Thanks to dimensions of 1,909 millimetres in width and 400 millimetres in depth, the rear wing will provide excellent aerodynamic balance.
It has numerous exterior details that serve as a nod to past winning vehicles from different eras of the company. For example, its closed aerodynamic wheels, similar to those on the 935 from 1978, and its mirrors come from the current 911 RSR, that is, the current Le Mans winner…

These nods can be seen throughout the model, both on the exterior and the interior.
Inside, we find a single seat in the centre of the single-seater as well as a carbon steering wheel. The seat is a racing bucket seat equipped with a six-point safety harness that ensures maximum protection.

There is an option to include a second seat for a passenger, but honestly, this vehicle is designed to race, not to go for a drive, so the best option is for it to remain a single-seater and thus save weight. It will also include an air conditioning system that will offer outstanding interior cooling.
As for its power, the 935 will be powered by a state-of-the-art 3.8-litre twin-turbo six-cylinder engine which produces 700 CV and is very similar to the high-performance unit in the 911 GT2 RS.
It features a Porsche seven-speed PDK dual-clutch gearbox. The paddle shifters will again be the way to change gears, that is, the same system used in Formula 1. These will provide practically instantaneous response.

It features monobloc aluminium racing calipers with six pistons on the front axle, combined with ventilated steel brake discs with internal venting and 390 millimetres in diameter. On the rear axle, the calipers have four pistons and the discs are 355 millimetres.
It will come equipped with the PSM system, which includes traction control and stability control among others. These can be switched off as desired, thus offering the most purist driving experience possible. The model weighs a total of 1,380 kg.
Orders for the new Porsche 935 can now be placed, with a price of 701,948 euros, excluding taxes. Customers will receive their vehicles from June 2019 at exclusive delivery events.
