Porsche expands its range of electric models with the new Macan GTS
The new Macan GTS is offered as a more balanced option, capable of delivering almost the same driving thrills as the Macan Turbo, but adapting better to everyday use.
Porsche has just announced the market launch of a new version of its most recent electric SUV, which will join the four already on sale. The new Macan GTS will sit in the range just above the Macan 4S and one step below the top-of-the-range model, the Macan Turbo.
The new Macan GTS shares the same powertrain as the Macan Turbo on the rear axle, but opts for a slightly less powerful one on the front axle, to deliver a combined total of 380 kW. With overboost mode overboost activated, this figure rises, however, for a short period of time to 420 kW. Let us recall that the Macan Turbo declares 430 kW of power, which reaches 470 kW with overboost.

These 380 kW of power allow the new Macan GTS to reach 100 km/h from a standstill in just 3.8 seconds using launch control. A notable achievement considering the roughly 2.4 tonnes the vehicle weighs on the scales. It is also capable of reaching 200 km/h in 13.3 seconds, with its top speed electronically limited to 250 km/h.
It goes further without ceasing to be fun behind the wheel
As for range, Porsche promises that this new GTS version can cover up to 586 km on a single charge, always under the WLTP homologation cycle, thanks to its 100 kWh NMC battery pack. When charging with direct current, its 800V architecture allows it to increase the state of charge from 10 to 80 percent in about 21 minutes, reaching a peak charging power of 270 kW. The Stuttgart firm also announces a combined energy consumption for this high-performance version of its electric SUV of 18.5 kWh per 100 km driven.
Beyond all these technical figures, the Macan GTS stands out for the extraordinary work the engineers at Porsche have carried out to optimise its performance. As standard, it includes active air suspension lowered by 10 millimetres, ePTM traction distribution, torque vectoring and the Sport Chrono package. In addition, it debuts a new Circuit Mode that preconditions the battery pack temperature for intensive track use. Optionally, rear-axle steering can also be added.

It should also be noted that the weight distribution is 52:48 in favour of the rear axle, aided by the electronic locking of the rear differential, which contributes to a low centre of gravity and a particularly dynamic drive.
Above all, it is a GTS
On the outside, it adopts the aggressive styling typical of all Porsche vehicles that wear the GTS badge. It features Matrix LED headlights, tinted rear lights, wider side skirts and 21-inch wheels, with the option of 22-inch wheels available as an extra. Porsche offers three new body colours for this GTS version and, in the cabin, allows customers to personalise finishes and upholstery with exclusive combinations.

With a price in Spain starting at 106,461 euros, the Macan GTS presents itself as a more versatile option than the Macan Turbo at the top of the range, offering somewhat more range while maintaining sporty behaviour and exceptional performance, as one would expect from any Porsche under the GTS designation.
