Porsche Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid: it was bound to happen
The new Porsche Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid is the most powerful model in the German SUV’s range… and carries the DGT’s ZERO emissions label.
It was taking its time Porsche to offer the hybrid powertrain first introduced on the Panamera in the new Porsche Cayenne and Porsche Cayenne Coupé. But it’s here now. This is the new Porsche Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid, which becomes the most powerful model in the German SUV’s range.

With a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine producing 550 CV, plus an electric motor producing 136 CV that is integrated into the 8-speed Tiptronic gearbox, the Cayenne Turbo delivers a maximum output of 680 CV, with 900 Nm of peak torque. Both body versions reach a top speed of 295 km/h, and stop the clock at 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds.
40 km of electric-only range
Being the fastest and most powerful in the range doesn’t stop the Cayenne Turbo from boasting efficiency, thanks to its plug-in hybrid powertrain.
It offers an electric-only range of 40 km, the minimum needed in this type of car to qualify for the DGT ZERO emissions label. At least as long as the way labels are regulated doesn’t change and other parameters come into play. And when it runs without burning petrol, the hybrid Cayenne can travel at speeds of up to 135 km/h.

The battery has a capacity of 14.1 kWh, and can be charged from a domestic socket (230 volts and 10 amps) in around six hours. The time drops to 2.4 hours at an industrial-type socket, with 400 volts and 16 amps, thanks to the 7.2 kW AC charger fitted as standard.
The Cayenne, also in E-Hybrid form
Alongside this new S E-Hybrid version based on the V8 Turbo, the Cayenne range once again includes the E-Hybrid version. The latter uses the 3.0-litre turbo V6 as its combustion engine, now with a petrol particulate filter, coupled to an electric motor.
Total output reaches 462 CV, with 700 Nm of peak torque. That’s enough to take the Cayenne E-Hybrid from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds, and exceed 250 km/h at the top end. In this case, the electric-only range is 43 kilometres, and the NEDC homologated consumption (calculated from WLTP consumption) starts at 3.1 l/100 km.

These are the prices for the new hybrid Cayenne range:
- Cayenne E-Hybrid: €94,761
- Cayenne E-Hybrid Coupé: €99,117
- Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid: €177,041
- Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid Coupé: €180,792
The large price gap between the E-Hybrid and the Turbo S E-Hybrid is due not only to the powertrain and the Turbo’s higher output, but also to the equipment.
The Turbo S E-Hybrid comes as standard with, among many other things, a rear limited-slip differential, roll stabilisation system, 21-inch wheels, adaptive air suspension and even ceramic brakes.
