The Renault 5 E-Tech introduces its new “five” trim, which will sit as the entry point to the range and be linked to the 95 CV engine

The success of the Renault 5 E-Tech was practically confirmed from its first official presentation, a fact corroborated by more than 40,000 units sold in its first months on the market, making it the best-selling electric vehicle among private buyers in Europe and, in Spain, the leader in its segment. Now Renault adds fuel to the fire with the new entry-level version of the range, a reason for the 5 E-Tech to become, once and for all, the electric car you will see most in your city.

This is the new Renault 5 E-Tech five, a version that, as I mentioned, will sit as the entry point to the range with a certainly very attractive price. It can now be ordered at the brand’s Spanish dealerships, starting at €24,950 before any aid or discounts. Like the rest of the range, the 5 E-Tech five may qualify for the MOVES plan where applicable, plus an €800 bonus if it replaces a combustion-engined vehicle and 30,000 km of home charging with Iberdrola.

That said, mechanically the Renault 5 E-Tech five will be equipped with the smallest engine in the range, namely the one delivering 70 kW (95 CV) and 215 Nm of torque, working together with the 40 kWh battery, and it offers a range of 312 km on the WLTP cycle, enough to cover both urban and peri-urban trips. Once depleted, it can charge from 15% to 80% in 2 hours and 37 minutes using the standard 11 kW AC charger. To keep costs down, this version’s charger does not feature V2G technology.
