Rimac Concept Two: the brand's bet on leaving petrol behind

The Rimac Concept Two has been one of the main novelties at Geneva. It is an electric supercar with 1,914 CV capable of reaching 410 km/h.

The Geneva Motor Show has covered all kinds of segments and vehicles, from concept cars to models that turn to electrification to get around and are within everyone’s reach. Within this last category we must include Rimac, a company whose history is not very long but which enjoys the same reputation as the largest ones. The Croatian firm already left the world amazed with the Concept One and wanted to take advantage of Geneva to do it again.

The Concept Two has been one of the main attractions of this edition of the Show, since it is presented as the most radical, wild and aggressive electric production vehicle ever created. These features not only place it among the most astonishing models that do without petrol, but also among those that keep their engine in the most traditional way possible. In this way, Rimac seeks to take on models of the calibre of the Bugatti Chiron.

To complete the picture, we must note that the aesthetics are appropriate for a vehicle of this level and are reflected in every single line of the Croatian supercar. We find a fine, elegant nose that conveys sportiness and strength, but finished in a way that keeps it within a simplicity that is unusual in a car of this segment. The rear continues to convey this same idea but manages to give the Concept Two a more futuristic style, something necessary in this model, since it looks like something out of a science fiction film.

At the same time, the engineers of this small – and at the same time large – firm have worked not only on the styling but also on the mechanics. To that end, the Concept Two features aerodynamics capable of keeping the electric supercar glued to the ground at all times. This is reflected in muscular lines that ensure the airflow stays smooth when it meets the Rimac’s bodywork and, at the same time, the presence of a retractable spoiler helps considerably.

As for the engine of the Concept Two, there are four electric motors capable of delivering no less than 1,914 CV of power and 2,300 Nm of torque, a figure it can deliver almost instantly. This tuning makes the Croatian supercar one of the fastest production vehicles in the world, since it accelerates to 100 km/h in just 1.8 seconds, which is complemented by a top speed of 410 km/h.

But the Rimac is not only fast, it is also efficient since it has a range of more than 600 km. At the same time, the electric supercar offers Level 4 autonomous driving, which places it among the most technologically advanced vehicles. However, exclusivity is seen not only in its mechanics but also in its production, since only 150 units of the Rimac Concept Two will be built.
