Skoda unveils the Enyaq RS Race competition prototype
Although for the moment it is nothing more than a design study, the Enyaq RS Race will very soon become a reality on the track, combining its competitive DNA with a commitment to sustainability
The Czech manufacturer has just surprised everyone with the presentation of the Enyaq RS Race competition prototype, with which the company aims to explore new possibilities for improving sustainability in motorsport. This prototype should also serve as a platform for developing and testing new electric technologies intended for future series production models.
As is easy to assume, this prototype is based on the Skoda Enyaq Coupé RS with 250 kW of power. Its aggressive design, enhanced by the large rear wing it integrates, certainly does not go unnoticed, and it will undoubtedly become the centre of attention at any car gathering.

According to the company, with this project the Czech manufacturer intends to build greater experience in the field of high-performance electric vehicles designed specifically for competition. The Enyaq RS Race has been developed by the engineering team at Skoda Motorsport, which is also responsible for other notable projects such as the Skoda Vision Gran Turismo and the Skoda Fabia RE-X1 of 2021.
The Enyaq RS Race is the latest major challenge for the competition division of Skoda
Michal Hrabánek, current head of Skoda Motorsport, referred to this latest major project, highlighting the importance that sustainability has always had in the long-term strategy of the Czech brand’s competition division. As he recalled, in 2021 Skoda Motorsport already made its first foray into electric rallying with the Skoda Fabia RE-X1. That experience has now made possible the development of the new Skoda Enyaq RS Race.

For his part, Daniel Petr, current chief designer at Skoda Auto, wanted to make it very clear that the Enyaq RS Race is not a simple design study destined to end up forgotten in some archive, but will become a real vehicle. This prototype, he noted, will be wider than the Enyaq Coupé RS on which it is based, will sit closer to the ground and will also weigh less on the scales. But the most important thing of all is that it will be much more dynamic, he concluded.
