The Ford Puma Titanium X arrives ahead of Frankfurt with Mild Hybrid system
The new Ford Puma Titanium X will be available with Mild Hybrid technology and removable, washable seat covers.

The oval brand has previewed its new Ford Puma Titanium X ahead of the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show. The new Puma Titanium X is the first Ford model to feature removable, washable seat covers that help customers keep the premium interior feel looking new, and it is also the first in its segment to offer seats with lumbar massage for maximum comfort on the move.
According to the brand itself, “among the innovative and sophisticated technologies fitted as standard on this model are wireless smartphone charging, a hands-free tailgate, and a premium B&O sound system. The Puma Titanium X also incorporates exterior and interior details and finishes that complete the model’s striking design.”

Roelant de Waard, Vice President of Marketing, Sales and Services at Ford Europe, has stated that “just as with the new Ford Puma ST-Line X that we unveiled a few months ago, our new Ford Puma Titanium X has its own identity”, “standard technologies that we would normally only see in large executive cars provide an outstanding level of comfort to customers of compact crossovers“.
The new Ford Puma combines an exterior design with a large luggage capacity and mild hybrid technology for customers in Europe. As a novelty, the evolved SUV is equipped with removable, washable seat covers which, according to the blue oval brand, “feature an elegant zip system that allows them to be taken off very easily using just one hand”.

In addition, the new front seats offer lumbar massage that aims to activate the muscles on the move and helps make journeys more relaxing. “Simply press a button to activate the three massage cushions in the electronically adjustable seats, which allow you to choose the direction of rotation and the massage intensity across three available levels. The inflatable cushions also activate incremental adjustment of the upper, middle and lower zones of the seat backrest, helping the driver and front passenger adjust their seating position for greater comfort.”
The interior of the new Ford Puma Titanium X features a steering wheel with leather-effect finish, and wood-effect trim around the instrument panel and centre console, as well as contemporary fabric inserts in the door interiors. “We wanted getting into the Puma Titanium X to feel as pleasant and comforting as coming home, so we used colours, details and interior finishing that reflect that atmosphere,” says Sonja Vandenberk, Head of Colour and Materials Design at Ford Europe.
The system offers, at no extra cost, compatibility with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, with an outstanding 575-watt sound system made up of 10 B&O speakers that adjust dynamically to ensure an immersive audio experience regardless of which seat is occupied.
As for the exterior, the new version features pronounced wheel arches, 18″ alloy wheels and ten spokes in pearl grey. The front has its own identity with gloss black enamel finishes and chrome details. At the rear there is a large diffuser in the same colour as the car.

Ford Puma Titanium X, now mild hybrid
The new model is fitted with a powertrain featuring the brand’s mild hybrid technology, which aims to improve fuel efficiency. The EcoBoost Hybrid technique optimises the 1.0 EcoBoost petrol engine with an integrated belt-driven starter/generator (BISG) of 11.5 kW. This system recovers and stores energy that is normally lost during braking and deceleration; this energy charges an air-cooled 48 V lithium-ion battery. The BISG also acts as a booster, integrating with the low-friction three-cylinder engine and using the stored energy to provide extra torque during normal driving and acceleration, as well as powering the vehicle’s secondary electrical systems.

With variants of 125 and 155 CV, the intelligent, self-regulating mild hybrid system can also use the battery to provide torque, reducing the workload demanded of the petrol engine: this achieves an improvement of up to 9% in fuel efficiency, according to WLTP tests. It can also supplement the torque coming from the engine in order to improve the Puma’s performance.
