The Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato shows up in new images cutting loose
The Italian brand’s first off-road supercar is now closer to its official presentation, so the company has decided to bring us the story of how this project came to be

With the upcoming edition of Art Basel Miami, opening its doors from 1 to 3 December, the Sant’Agata Bolognese firm has chosen this event to present the definitive Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato. A version based on a 2019 Huracán, turned into a capable supercar, perfect for having a great time off the asphalt.
The origins of this crazy project go back to 2019, when one of the first Huracán prototypes, specifically chassis number 53, was modified into a wheeled laboratory, fitted with off-road elements to increase ground clearance and deliver an exciting performance on dirt or gravel tracks.
Developed at the temple of dirt circuits
Its development took place at the Strada Bianca in Nardò, a legendary circuit which, in the words of Maurizio Reggiani, Vice President of Lamborghini Motorsport and former CTO, “is for off-track development of Lamborghini what the Nürburgring’s ‘Green Hell’ is for racing”.

This off-road supercar was born from the idea of creating a car halfway between the Huracán and the Urus, resulting in a supercar that is great fun to drive on dirt roads, with a genuine rally setup, increased ground clearance, improved approach and departure angles, and wider track on both axles, thanks to fitting knobbly tyres with wide sidewalls.
Unleashing radicalism
For Mitja Borkert, Head of Design at Lamborghini, the Huracán Sterrato was a truly fun project from the very first moment, as they had the challenge of developing something different for active people and sports enthusiasts who seek enjoyment and want to drive even beyond roads and racing circuits, all while maintaining the genuine DNA of the Italian brand.

Among its most notable features, the Sterrato concept fits wider tyres with increased sidewalls to improve grip and impact absorption, along with reinforced underbody and front chassis elements in aluminium, protected by an aluminium skid plate.
With all this, the production Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato is now closer to reaching the streets, so all we can do is wait and enjoy images of this sports car cutting loose, like those illustrating this article.
