The electric supercar from Porsche will become the first electric car to be modified by Hennessey, although it would not add power to the motors

The new Porsche Taycan, an 100% electric vehicle, was unveiled only recently, representing a major step forward in electric mobility for the German brand. And it will not only be important for them: the Texan tuner Hennessey has chosen it to become the first 100% electric car to pass through its workshop and receive upgrades.

The company’s CEO himself, John Hennessey, has chosen this model for his first work on an electric vehicle. The changes, in principle, will be fairly simple and will include cosmetic modifications such as wheels, bumpers and some details that give it a more dynamic look.

For now, these are the changes they will apply to one of the most anticipated electric cars of this year, which has surprised many with its purely Porsche performance. But the cosmetic changes are only a test to begin working on the model.

Although the first Porsche Taycan modified by Hennessey will not be ready until well into 2020, those interested in the first modifications to power and range will have to wait a little longer.

Hennessey’s intention is to work on the electric powertrain and make it more efficient and offer greater performance, just as they do with combustion engines. To do so, they will have to work hard, since the Taycan Turbo offers two electric motors that together deliver a combined power of 500 kW, the equivalent of 680 CV. This allows it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds, reach 260 km/h, and offers a range of 450 km.

The Porsche Taycan Turbo S is more extreme, with a combined output of 560 kW, equivalent to 761 CV, and reduces the acceleration time to 2.8 seconds. It keeps the same top speed, and its range is slightly lower, at 412 km.
