GLC Mercedes Electric Cars SUV
The price and some technical details of the most affordable version of the new electric GLC are revealed
If the announced price for the GLC 400 4MATIC EQ is beyond your budget, don’t worry, because more affordable versions are on their way.
Mercedes-Benz is preparing to launch new versions of its new mid-size electric SUV, the GLC with EQ technology. Although deliveries of the GLC 400 4MATIC EQ -sitting at the top of the range with 360 kW and all-wheel drive- are still pending, the German manufacturer already has a new entry-level version ready that will put this new model within reach of the brand’s customers for less than 60,000 euros.
The new GLC 200 EQ will feature a single motor on the rear axle, capable of delivering up to 230 kW of power. This configuration will considerably improve efficiency. Equipped with a 64 kWh LFP battery pack, this version is expected to achieve around 460 km of range under the WLTP homologation cycle.

Other technical specifications worth highlighting include the acceleration of this version, which is expected to be around 6.5 seconds; or its high supported charging power, which will allow it to increase the state of charge from 10 to 80 percent in about 20 minutes.
It is still a Mercedes-Benz
Inside, the GLC 200 EQ will maintain the high level of quality expected from a vehicle of the brand, although with some cutbacks to contain the price. As standard it will integrate three independent screens, but the spectacular MBUX Hyperscreen that spans the full width of the dashboard will be reserved as a paid option, as will the MBUX Superscreen.
In Germany, the selling price of this more affordable version is expected to start at 59,200 euros, although Mercedes-Benz is currently applying a 5 percent discount to private buyers that would bring its final price during the launch down to a more attractive 56,240 euros. Orders for the GLC 200 EQ will open in the coming months and the first units will arrive throughout 2026.

In addition to this entry-level model and the already known GLC 400 4MATIC, the range of this mid-size electric SUV will be expanded with three additional versions: the GLC 250 EQ equipped with a single 260 kW motor on the rear axle, the GLC 300 4MATIC with dual electric motors and 310 kW of combined power, plus the GLC 300+ EQ, which promises up to 735 kilometres of range thanks to a higher-capacity battery pack and 270 kW of power.
With this complete range of versions of its new mid-size electric SUV, Mercedes aims to meet the needs of a wide range of customers, from those looking for an affordable premium electric to those who prioritise maximum range, combining different motors and battery packs in a single model.
