The SEAT León Cupra R ST did not want to say goodbye without first passing through the hands of ABT
SEAT and ABT have a close relationship, something they once again demonstrate with the León Cupra R ST, a model that has passed through the hands of the tuner.

For better or worse, it is only a matter of time before the name “SEAT” stops coming before “León Cupra”, since the sporty version of the next generation of the Spanish compact will be run by CUPRA. However, the current León is still on sale, as are its hottest versions, and although its commercial life is about to end, it has chosen to be pampered by ABT. The German tuner has decided to play with the León Cupra R ST; in other words, the most radical and sporty estate León ever built to date.
ABT has already shown us on several occasions that the fact that a vehicle has such characteristics is no excuse for not squeezing out every last ounce of sportiness. With this premise, the tuner, neither shy nor lazy, has decided to give prominence to that character which is already present in the León Cupra R but has been exalted thanks to the tuner.
Aesthetically, we still find various carbon fibre parts just as happens with the standard version of the Spanish compact. However, ABT has shown enough skill to improve the visual appearance of the León without altering its essence too much. To do so, the German company has fitted 20-inch wheels with a specific design, which combine perfectly with the suspension upgrades the Cupra R has undergone.

But it is in the innards of the León where ABT has applied its magic, bringing out the wilder side of SEAT’s favourite son. As standard, the Cupra R ST is powered by a turbocharged four-cylinder heart with a displacement of 2.0 litres, which produces 300 CV of power and 400 Nm of torque.
Thanks to certain upgrades to the SEAT León Cupra R’s ECU, the German tuner has managed to raise the output of this engine substantially. To be more specific, after the native compact has passed through the hands of ABT, it is capable of delivering 350 CV and 440 Nm of torque, figures that translate into a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in just 5 seconds and a top speed of 260 km/h.

Only 300 units of the SEAT León Cupra R ST will reach the Spanish market, a fact that automatically makes it one of the most special vehicles in the brand’s range. However, ABT will allow us to increase that exclusivity, something made possible by the wide-ranging upgrades it offers for the compact.
