The TOYOTA GAZOO Racing World Rally Team (TGR-WRT) team once again leaves us amazed with its confirmation of the long-awaited GR Yaris Rally2, which has finally obtained the official homologation from the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA), marking the start of a new chapter for Toyota in the world of rallying from January 1, 2024.
The vehicle has not been built only for professional competition but also to meet the demands of motorsport enthusiasts. We will first have the chance to see this fantastic model run by the ROOKIE Racing team, under the direction of visionary Akio Toyoda, also known as ‘Morizo‘.

Driving Rally to a Global Level
TOYOTA GAZOO Racing (TGR) has left an indelible mark on international motorsport, taking part in several high-level competitions such as the World Rally Championship (WRC) with the GR Yaris Rally, the World Endurance Championship (WEC) with the GR010, and the World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC) with the DKR Hilux EVO T1U. Now, with the GR Yaris Rally2, the Japanese brand seeks to engage rally fans even further by offering a competition version based on its iconic GR Yaris model, and is developing a customer version of the incredible GR Supra GT4.
With homologation secured, distribution of the GR Yaris Rally2 to customers around the world is underway. Delivery of the first commemorative model is scheduled for ROOKIE Racing, led by Morizo himself. In addition, four teams are already entered to take part in the upcoming Monte Carlo Rally, which will be held from January 25 to 28, demonstrating the immediate appeal of this new model.
