Cupra Tavascan Electric Cars Eventos Tests SUV
We tested the CUPRA Tavascan Endurance and cut its consumption to 12.8 kWh in the Tavascan Challenge
We competed and won the Tavascan Challenge by reducing the homologated consumption of the Tavascan to 12.8 kWh/100 km
We took the wheel of the CUPRA Tavascan in its Endurance version with 286 CV in a competition where participants had to reduce the homologated consumption between 15.7 and 17.4 kWh/100 km and arrive in the shortest possible time under real driving conditions. Will we have achieved it?… I can tell you yes! And in first position.
The CUPRA Tavascan Endurance, with its 286 CV and 569 km of range, promised to combine power and efficiency. But in our consumption test, it not only met expectations, it exceeded them. Thanks to its 210 kW electric motor and its 77 kWh battery, we managed to reduce the homologated consumption by applying efficient driving, maximizing energy regeneration and making the most of its optimized aerodynamics, which reach just 0.26 Cx.

This model uses a permanent magnet synchronous motor on the rear axle, generating 545 Nm of torque, which provides acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.8 seconds. However, its true surprise lies in its energy efficiency. During our test, we managed to reduce consumption by more than 3 kWh/100 km on a mixed route, bringing our consumption at the end of this test to 12.8 kWh/100 km. We finished first in the competition by homologating a gross consumption of 15.4 kW/h.

How did we do it? The key was making the most of its energy recovery mode, using the Range driving mode, specifically designed to maximize range, and playing with the paddle shifters on the steering wheel when taking corners or going downhill. But this was not only thanks to our agility at the wheel: its optimized aerodynamics and the adaptive chassis control (DCC Sport) helped keep consumption under control without sacrificing dynamism on the most twisty terrain.
Its interior is incredible, with all the technology and comfort you could imagine, including a 15-inch infotainment screen and a Sennheiser sound system, although we had no opportunity to test it, as simply having it switched on adds an extra consumption of 0.2 kWh/100 km. Another detail that helped us stay focused during the test and maintain both speed and appropriate consumption is the Head-up Display with augmented reality.

If you are looking for more power and sportiness, the CUPRA Tavascan also offers the VZ version with 340 CV, all-wheel drive with Dual Motor and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.5 seconds, which guarantees spectacular performance. In addition, it has a range of up to 521 km thanks to its 77 kWh battery. However, if you prefer lower or moderate consumption without giving up the thrill behind the wheel, the 286 CV Endurance version is a more balanced choice, offering up to 569 km of range and consumption figures that, as you have seen, are surprising.
