Why the Banatti Green Falcon is the ultimate eco-friendly motorcycle

This motorcycle, with a body made entirely of bamboo, has a battery that gives it a range of 50 kilometers and a top speed of 95 km/h

The challenge of achieving a fully environmentally friendly vehicle is not only something car manufacturers want to achieve; motorcycle designers are also willing to take on the challenge. So imagine a fully eco-friendly, environmentally respectful motorcycle. And not only because it is a fully electric motorcycle, but because its body is built from bamboo.

The Banatti Green Falcon comes from the Philippines and from the hands and mind of the artist Christopher Paris Lacson. His intention is to showcase the art of his country through the use of this material, but also to offer the possibility of a fully eco-friendly motorcycle, with features typical of a motorcycle with a combustion engine.

One thing must be made clear: bamboo is the material used for the body, although the chassis is metal. The body weighs only 6.5 kilos, which benefits its handling on the road. In addition, the outer shell has been carefully designed so that it does not offer excessive air resistance. The body has received a treatment with epoxy resin, which reinforces the integrity of the organic material.

The technology is highly integrated into the motorcycle, so the battery powers the electric motor and provides a range of 50 kilometers. This figure is quite modest, but it must be remembered that this is a first prototype and the aim is to prioritize ecological performance over other considerations. The top speed is 120 km/h, but it has been limited to 95 km/h to preserve the range of about fifty kilometers.

The braking system, the lighting and the rest of the components ensure that everything works safely and does not affect the capacity of the battery. A delightful motorcycle with not much practical use, but it may be a good starting point for sustainable mobility, not only because of the fuel it uses but also because of the material used in its manufacture.
