Brabus 1000, the spectacular tuning of the AMG GT 63 S E Performance with 1.000 CV of power

Just in days when the AMG GT family is on everyone’s lips due to the presentation of the electric prototype Concept AMG GT XX and the also prototype, but with a radical character focused on track performance, Concept AMG GT Track Sport, the specialists from Brabus arrive and announce the arrival of the Brabus 1000 with a number that indicates very high expectations.

Based on the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance, the plug-in hybrid sports car from the Affalterbach house, the Brabus 1000 is a tuning package that extracts the maximum performance from this 2+2 coupé and its 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8. Specifically, from the factory it certifies a displacement of 3.982 cc, which has been increased to 4.407 cc thanks to changes such as the cylinder inner diameter increased to 84 mm and fitted with forged pistons, together with a stroke that extends to 100 mm thanks to the specific solid aluminum crankshaft and the high-performance forged connecting rods.

Obviously these are not the only modifications made to the engine, since beneath the spectacular red carbon cover lies a forced induction system with two high-performance Brabus turbochargers, not forgetting the stainless steel exhaust system equipped with electronically controlled butterfly valves that allow its sound to be modified, whether to be as unnoticed as possible or to emit a spectacular roar from the V8.

Brabus has also been responsible for modifying the electronics that manage the combustion engine, which together produce a power of 796 CV along with a torque of 1250 Nm at just 2,900 rpm (although it is electronically limited to 1,050 Nm). The hybrid system is completed by the permanent-magnet synchronous electric motor located on the rear axle, maintaining the 204 CV power it certifies as standard, so that together they have managed to make the Brabus 1000 register a power of 1000 CV along with a torque of 1,820 Nm (electronically limited to 1,620 Nm to protect the transmission components).

The rear motor still carries its own two-speed automatic gearbox, while the combustion engine does so through the nine-speed Speedshift MCT automatic transmission, sending this enormous torque to all four wheels thanks to the 4Matic+ all-wheel drive system. Thanks to all this, the Brabus 1000 is capable of going from 0 to 100 km/h in an impressive 2.6 seconds, then reaching 200 km/h in 9.5 seconds and 300 km/h in 23.6 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 320 km/h.

All this display of power requires it to be controllable during acceleration and at high speeds, which is why the Brabus engineers have designed a series of parts tested in the wind tunnel for the Brabus 1000 with the aim of improving aerodynamics, all of them in carbon fiber that can be chosen in either matte or gloss finish and optionally in another color as contrast. These parts are, for example, the front splitter with side fins, the wings just ahead of the front wheel arches, the channels applied to the grille at the front, the elaborate rear diffuser or the simple but spectacular rear spoiler that suits it perfectly. All of this complemented by the Monoblock Z wheels of 21 inches at the front and 22 inches at the rear fitted with Continental or Hankook tires and, finally, the adjustable suspension system.

To finish, Brabus has also worked on the interior of the Brabus 1000, installing a black leather upholstery combined with Dinamica suede in the same color in a shell-shaped pattern, while the carbon fiber inserts and the various elements painted in red serve to convey notes of contrast and radicalness.

Brabus is already accepting orders for the Brabus 1000, with a price that will be around 445,900 euros, which may increase depending on the options included, especially regarding exterior and interior styling.
