Do you have 1.45 million euros? Invest it in this Ferrari F40

To mark the brand’s 40th anniversary, the great Enzo Ferrari wanted to pay an enormous tribute to the “cavallino rampante” and commissioned a car as special as the Ferrari F40.
Production began in 1987 and ended five years later, in 1992. Initially, around 400 units were planned, but Ferrari was practically forced to increase that figure to just over 1,300 units, all of them in the traditional Rosso Corsa colour.
Twin-turbo V8 engine, 478 CV, 1,100 kilos of weight, steel tubular chassis with carbon fibre monocoque, 0 to 100 in 4.5 seconds and a top speed of 324 km/h are just some of its technical features, to which we must add a limited-slip rear differential, a short wheelbase and very lively reactions, not suitable for just any driver.
At the time, the price of the Ferrari F40 in Spain was around 40 million old pesetas, which would be about 240,000 euros, although the value of currency has varied so much over the nearly 30 years since then that it would be far more today.

We have now found a unit for sale at $1.59 million, which at today’s exchange rate is roughly 1.45 million euros. It may seem a very high price, all the more so considering it is a 26-year-old car (this unit was produced in 1990), but not every day does one of the most admired and exclusive Ferrari models in history come up for sale. The last model produced with Enzo Ferrari still alive.
Moreover, this particular unit is in exceptional condition, as it should be. Its odometer shows a distance of just 3,200 kilometres, so there is very little mechanical wear to speak of.
In the photos, not a single defect can be seen, either outside or inside. And since we’re on the subject of the interior, a brief glance into the cabin is enough to realise that this iconic model was designed to be driven and to feel the drive. A steering wheel, three pedals and a gear lever is all that’s needed. Oh, and a twin-turbo V8 at the rear!
