Kymco Xciting 250R, the renewed sporty maxi-scooter

The brand Kymco has surprised with the renewal of the Xciting 250R, a motorcycle that combines sporty and urban style in a single machine and has managed to carve out a place for itself in a segment with many options, such as scooters.

The Xciting was launched in 2005, but in 2008 this sporty maxi-scooter has evolved in several aspects, all of them aimed at introducing improvements to components and manufacturing techniques, most notably the Keihin electronic fuel injection.

The Xciting 250R’s engine is single-cylinder, producing 21 CV at 6,750 rpm, with a torque of 21.8 Nm at 5,500 rpm, delivering strong performance with a top speed of 135 km/h and an acceleration of 0-100 km in 7 seconds.

At the front, the Xciting features a hydraulic fork with steel stanchions and cast-iron sliders, but more notable is its aluminium double-tube front end, making it one of the few single-cylinder scooters to have one.

As it is a special version, it is available in several colours, including silver, white and titanium.

One of the positive aspects is that these improvements have not led to a price increase, and it is sold for €3,860, including one year of compulsory insurance for riders over 24 years of age.
