New Nissan X-Trail: range and prices for Spain
Nissan opens orders for the new X-Trail, available in e-Power and 1.5 petrol turbo versions, with prices from 42,160 euros before discounts.

Almost seven million units of the Nissan X-Trail have been sold since its launch in 2002. Now, the Nissan SUV enters its fourth generation, stepping up in aspirations to target the best seven-seater SUVs. It has plenty of arguments, thanks to the new CMF-C platform also used by the new Renault Austral, and technologies such as the e-POWER hybrid versions.
The Nissan X-Trail hybrid: e-POWER technology
Without a doubt, the X-Trail hybrid is one of the stars of the range. It relies on the e-POWER system from Nissan, which stands out because the engine that drives the vehicle is always an electric motor, with an output of 150 kW (204 CV) and a maximum torque of 330 Nm. It is the same system used in the Nissan Qashqai e-POWER.

The electric motor is powered by the energy produced on board by a 1.5 petrol turbo engine, coupled to a power generator and an inverter. Therefore, the combustion engine works solely to generate electricity on board, which is sent to the electric motor and to a high-performance battery. The latter cannot be recharged from a power socket.
The advantage of this system is that, apart from the noise of the combustion engine, driving resembles that of an electric vehicle in terms of power and torque delivery characteristics of this type of motor, with a very linear response.

It can even be driven using the e-Pedal Step function (activated by a button on the console), which allows urban journeys using only the accelerator pedal for both accelerating and decelerating. Nissan announces a top speed limited to 170 km/h, with combined fuel consumption on the WLTP cycle from 5.8 l/100 km.
e-4FORCE all-wheel drive: two electric motors
The Nissan X-Trail is also offered with the e-4FORCE all-wheel drive already known from the new Nissan Ariya. In this case, the X-Trail e-POWER incorporates a second 100 kW (136 CV) electric motor on the rear axle. The system’s total output reaches 157 kW (213 CV), allowing the X-Trail e-POWER 4×4 to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7 seconds, one second faster than the 4×2. The top speed in this case is 180 km/h, with an average consumption from 6.3 l/100 km.

The possibilities offered by a system like this allow engineers to take advantage of the responsiveness of electric motors, much faster than mechanical systems at transmitting torque, which can be constantly redistributed depending on the driving situation. In this case, rather than seeking outstanding off-road qualities, the aim has been to reinforce safety, comfort and efficiency, also taking advantage of regenerative braking on both axles to control body movements.
Also with a petrol Mild Hybrid engine
Nissan also offers the X-Trail in a combustion engine version, the innovative three-cylinder 1.5 petrol engine capable of operating with variable compression ratio. It is the same engine that, in the e-POWER versions, is used as part of the electricity generating system.
In the case of the X-Trail 1.5 VCR Turbo, available only with front-wheel drive, the engine delivers 120 kW (163 CV), with a maximum torque of 300 Nm. The homologated top speed is 200 km/h, although acceleration falls well short of the e-Power 4×2 version, with 9.6 seconds to go from 0 to 100 km/h. As for WLTP average consumption, it starts from 7.1 l/100 km.
This petrol version is paired with the Xtronic automatic gearbox and a light hybridisation system and, therefore, also enjoys the ECO environmental label from the DGT, like the e-POWER versions.
Interior of the Nissan X-Trail: up to seven seats
Except for the e-POWER 4×2 variant, both the 4×4 X-Trail and the 1.5 petrol can be ordered with five or seven seats, at an extra cost of 800 euros. Nissan has paid special attention to this third row of seats, facilitating access thanks to rear doors with a wide opening angle of up to 90 degrees.

In addition, the second row of seats, split in a 60:40 configuration, can slide longitudinally to adjust the space. The two individual seats in the third row, which can be stowed under the boot floor, are suitable for occupants up to 1.60 metres tall, with the advantage that, unlike other vehicles of this type, passengers in these seats can place their feet under the second row. The boot capacity of 585 litres represents an increase of 20 litres over the previous X-Trail generation.
As for the driver’s position, the new 12.3-inch NissanConnect screen stands out, as does the digital instrumentation, also with a 12.3-inch screen and up to six display modes. The head-up display option projects information onto the windscreen over an area of 10.8 inches.

Nissan offers the latest driver assistance systems on the X-Trail, with the new generation of the ProPILOT system, now with Navi-Link, featuring active cruise control capable of stopping the vehicle and restarting in dense traffic, or adjusting speed according to traffic signs or the road layout.
Prices and equipment of the new Nissan X-Trail
The prices of the Nissan X-Trail start from 42,160 euros for the 1.5 VC Turbo in N-Connecta trim, 46,110 euros for the Tekna and 50,010 euros for the Tekna+. For the 1.5 e-Power 4×2, the premium over the petrol is 2,300 euros. The 4×4 versions, meanwhile, cost roughly 3,400 euros more than the 4×2. These are the official prices announced by Nissan, without any discount.

Compared with the entry-level N-Connecta versions, which already come very well equipped as standard, the Tekna add adaptive matrix full LED headlights, indicators and LED fog lights, HUD system, ProPILOT, assisted parking, 19-inch wheels, chrome trim, electric tailgate, synthetic leather upholstery, electric and heated front seats, wireless charger, and ambient lighting system.
The Tekna+ add the Bose sound system, 21-inch wheels, openable panoramic roof, Nappa leather upholstery, heated steering wheel and heated rear seats.
