The all-new Volkswagen T-ROC 2026 arrives: prices, discounts, versions and equipment for Spain

Volkswagen T Roc 7

Volkswagen invited us to Madrid for the official presentation of the new T-ROC, marking the start of its market debut in Spain. It was an event where we had a first static hands-on contact with the second generation of the compact SUV, of which more than two million units have already been sold in Europe since its launch in 2017, and which is the best-selling Volkswagen model in Spain.

The new T-ROC arrives with a completely redesigned look, a range of more efficient engines that, from the outset, carry the DGT ECO label and the DSG dual-clutch gearbox, a much more technological and higher-quality interior, and prices which, with the announced discounts, are competitive against rivals such as the Opel Frontera, the Ford Puma, the Peugeot 2008, the Ebro S400, the §6Fordh27§ and the Renault Captur. These are the main highlights of the Volkswagen T-ROC 206, and this is how the launch offer looks.

Exterior and interior design and new features

Beyond the new exterior design, with the design language we have already seen on models such as the Tiguan, what really matters in this second generation of the T-ROC is that its length increases by 12 centimetres. This is decisive in offering more interior space and, above all, a boot that reaches 475 litres of capacity, expandable to 1,350 litres by folding down the rear seats. That is 30 litres more than the outgoing generation, while maintaining regular, highly usable proportions.

Notable design details include the illuminated brand logo at both the front and rear, the 3D rear light clusters joined by an illuminated bar, and the IQ.LIGHT Matrix LED headlights (standard on the R-Line top trim). The aerodynamic drag coefficient has also been reduced by 10%, bringing the Cx to 0.29. For the bodywork you can choose from six paint finishes, with the playful names that Volkswagen uses on its new models. There are two solid colours, white and yellow, and four metallic colours: grey, black, blue and red. In all cases, a black roof can be chosen.

Inside, besides a clear evolution in the sense of quality and fit, the T-ROC receives technologies from higher segments, such as the head-up display, 360-degree cameras, version 4.0 of the infotainment system with a touchscreen that can reach up to 12.9 inches, voice control with natural language recognition, and the “Driving Experience Control” dial for selecting driving modes.

Engines: all with ECO label and DSG gearbox

The launch range of the VW T-ROC 2026 in Spain features two 1.5-litre four-cylinder eTSI petrol engines with 48-volt light hybrid technology, which is why they carry the DGT ECO badge. Both versions come as standard with a DSG dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The entry engine is the 1.5 eTSI with 85 kW (116 CV), followed by the 1.5 eTSI with 110 kW (150 CV). A HEV version with conventional hybrid technology (non-plug-in), four-wheel-drive variants and a more powerful engine, as well as the T-ROC R sports model, will be added later.

Both engines are combined with three trim levels, named T-Roc, Más and R-Line, so the range and list prices are as follows:

  • T-ROC 1.5 eTSI 116 CV DSG: from 34,285 euros, 29,600 euros with campaigns and financing
  • T-ROC 1.5 eTSI 116 CV DSG Más: from 36,520 euros, 31,700 euros with campaigns and financing
  • T-ROC 1.5 eTSI 150 CV DSG Más: from 37,960 euros, 32,900 euros with campaigns and financing
  • T-ROC 1.5 eTSI 150 CV DSG R-Line: from 42,400 euros, 36,900 euros with campaigns and financing

These list prices, which are high compared with its main rivals, become more competitive with the sales campaigns and the financing discount offered by the brand, bringing the entry-level T-ROC down to a price from 29,600 euros. In all cases, the discounts exceed 4,000 euros.

Highlighted equipment of the new T-ROC 2026

From the entry versions upwards, the new Volkswagen T-ROC comes with comprehensive equipment and the most notable driver-assistance systems, including features such as keyless entry, cruise control, two-zone climate control, tinted glass, a 10-inch multimedia screen, park assist and front cross-traffic assist. The Más trim adds intelligent parking assistant, alarm, driving mode selector, interior ambient lighting and metallic paint. The sportier R-Line versions add 19-inch alloy wheels, illuminated logos, Matrix LED headlights, sports seats, a 12.9-inch multimedia screen and remote parking assistant.

In addition, Volkswagen offers two exclusive versions at launch, each associated with one of the two available engines, which stand out for their more complete equipment and exclusive details:

  • T-ROC Launch Edition: with the 1.5 eTSI 116 CV engine and details such as aluminium trim and pedal covers. From 35,950 euros (before discounts)
  • T-ROC R-Line 1st Edition: with the 150 CV engine and a sportier finish, including the “Black Style” pack as standard, 20-inch wheels, HUD, travel assist, 360-degree camera and Discover navigation system. From 44,090 euros (before discounts)

With this new generation, the T-ROC 2026 is set to keep adding successes as one of the most attractive compact SUVs on the Spanish market, with an efficient engine range, a notable improvement in interior quality and technological equipment options, and greater interior space and boot capacity, which even make it an alternative for many buyers considering SUVs from the next segment up.
