The BMW M3 Touring is updated thanks to AC Schnitzer

The German tuner’s latest creation is based on the sportiest version of the 3 Series Touring, pushing its engine beyond 600 CV and equipping it with exclusive design elements

A little over a month ago, AC Schnitzer unveiled its latest creation based on the BMW 3 Series Touring, which, thanks to a series of both aesthetic and performance upgrades, brought the Bavarian estate up to 420 CV, making it a slightly less powerful but no less sporty version than the BMW M3 Touring.

Now, the tuner specialising in BMW has pulled a new ace out of its sleeve, presenting its new range of updates for the BMW M3 Competition Touring, which consists of two performance kits depending on how radical we are willing to go, along with a few design elements specific to this model that make it clear we are not looking at a conventional M3.

Simple but striking changes

Starting with the design, AC Schnitzer has decided to keep its M3 Touring looking quite similar to the conventional version of the model, focusing above all on improving its aerodynamics with small elements that make all the difference, such as the carbon front splitter, the side canards at both ends of the front bumper and black inserts for the bonnet vents. Changes that allow it to increase front-axle downforce by 40 kilos.

From the side profile, the 20-inch forged black wheels suit the estate very well thanks to the suspension system fitted to the conversion, which allows the ride height to be lowered by between 20 and 25 millimetres.

At the rear, the sporty carbon diffuser that embraces all four exhaust outlets and the rear spoiler, which increases aerodynamic downforce by 20 kilos, complete the aesthetic changes to this AC Schnitzer M3 Touring.

More spark for the AC Schnitzer M3 Touring

Turning to performance, as we mentioned earlier, the tuner offers two performance kits for the 3.0-litre twin-turbo inline six-cylinder engine. The first of the two increases its output from the 510 CV it offers as standard to 590 CV, and its torque from 650 Nm to 750 Nm.

The second performance kit offered by AC Schnitzer not only adds a stainless-steel exhaust system with active valves, but also pushes its engine up to 610 CV and 750 Nm of torque.
