The Honda NSX comes back to life 25 years later as a technological icon

NSX 7

The Honda NSX has for many years been one of the dreams of every lover of high-performance vehicles. However, production began 25 years ago and was kept up until 2005.

Even so, many of us longed for a Honda “of the old days” that would truly mark a turning point in its segment. With the return of the NSX, we are sure the Japanese have achieved it.

The exterior design of the NSX has been suitably updated. After several concepts launched in recent years, the production version features a design that does not differ greatly from what was seen in the earlier prototypes, something that always pleases an audience that has had to get used to production versions very different from what concept cars anticipate.

NSX 8

The shape of the new NSX shows a strikingly sporty character, with a very low and very sharp nose, the signature of the original NSX. The headlights appear hidden, a reminder of the pop-up headlights of the first NSX. With a very low-slung profile, the 2016 NSX arrives covered in small aerodynamic elements such as air intakes, ducts and diffusers. The alloy wheels conceal carbon-ceramic brakes that guarantee brutal deceleration in any situation.

The rear also shares certain similarities with the original NSX, with elements such as the light clusters, very slim and joined together by a light bar. The exhaust system is concentrated in the central area, integrated into a fully functional -and necessary- diffuser.

NSX 9

Inside, the modern, contemporary line generated on the exterior is maintained. We find a large central console that separates the two seats. The driver will enjoy a fully digital instrument cluster, something that is beginning to become a trend and will gradually spread across the automotive market. Curved lines and folds take control of a cabin trimmed in leather and aluminium, in which both occupants will enjoy every detail.

NSX 3

The most important part of the NSX is its technology. The new NSX will become a true technological benchmark thanks to a twin-turbo petrol V6 engine combined with three, yes, three, electric motors. The more than 550 CV generated are sent to the rear wheels through a dual-clutch gearbox with 9 ratios, guaranteeing performance that is truly breathtaking.
