The Hyundai Elantra N will arrive with 280 CV and a manual gearbox
The Hyundai Elantra N is now official, offering 280 CV of power and a six-speed manual gearbox! Shall we take a closer look?

The long-awaited Hyundai Elantra N has arrived and in some markets it will be known as Hyundai i30 N Sedan. The new sports saloon from Hyundai will use the well-known 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo engine. It will now produce 280 CV and 392 Nm of maximum torque. This will be paired with a six-speed manual gearbox or an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
With N mode engaged, power rises to 290 CV, and it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.3 seconds. The model also features an electronic limited-slip differential, which the brand calls the ‘N Corner Carving Differential’, a dedicated control system, and the N Grin Shift, N Power Shift and N Track Sense Shift modes. It is also worth highlighting that it has an integrated driveshaft inspired by the WRC that combines the driveshaft and bearing, reducing weight and improving lateral grip.

To improve the car’s performance, it is fitted with electronically adjustable suspension that optimises driving and reduces noise, vibration and harshness. The brakes measure 360 mm and use high-friction pads from the brand. The South Korean carmaker has also designed a new front cooling system alongside an air guide for the braking system, whose purpose is to improve efficiency.

The N Sound Equalizer system mimics sounds from TCR cars and pipes them into the cabin. Drivers can adjust the engine and exhaust sound through an equaliser. The infotainment system, meanwhile, displays information such as oil and coolant temperature, torque and turbo pressure. The seats are reinforced, but drivers can choose sports seats that sit 10 mm lower.

Notably, the new Hyundai Elantra N 2022 has a much more angular and aggressive design than the standard Hyundai Elantra. The front features a specific bumper, larger air intakes and a lip designed for this model. The side skirts, rear diffuser, spoiler, wheels and Formula 1-inspired lighting are some of its most eye-catching details.
