The LIUX BIG arrives, a Spanish-developed electric quadricycle that aims to become a benchmark
The LIUX BIG is a Spanish-made quadricycle that will begin to be sold during 2026 and will start production in 2028.

Small quadricycles have become an alternative for getting around city streets. They are small, manoeuvrable vehicles that can be parked almost anywhere and have very low consumption. As a result, they have become very common vehicles in cities around the world. And from Spain comes a model eager to become a benchmark in this segment.
The LIUX BIG is the first vehicle of these characteristics from LIUX, a Spanish company based in Azuqueca de Henares, Guadalajara, founded a few years ago. Initially, the company wanted to develop an electric car capable of covering up to 600 kilometres on a single battery charge. However, after the first tests, they decided to focus on developing urban vehicles.

This model has a compact length of 2.7 metres and belongs to the L7e category, that is, heavy quadricycles or microcars. So far, it has passed the technical validation tests and is ready for the next step, the certification phase. Commercialisation will then begin, which could start before June.
LIUX BIG details
In terms of technical details, the LIUX BIG is known to have a 15 kWh battery, with a technology that will deliver higher energy efficiency than other similar vehicles. It is expected to homologate a range of 215 kilometres under the WMTC cycle, which is specific to this type of vehicle.
A second version of this model is expected, which will feature a 20 kWh battery, increasing the range to 270 kilometres. With this range, it comes very close to what models such as the Dacia Spring offer.

The chassis construction has been carried out using an ultra-light steel composite weighing only 45 kg. Although it is very light, it is also very strong. The bodywork is made with recyclable flax fibre, which also keeps the weight down. The centre of gravity is low and the weight distribution provides very effective balance. As a result, the driving experience is closer to what a car can offer rather than a quadricycle.
Another feature of this vehicle is that it will offer more sustainable production. The reduction in carbon footprint is put at 40% lower than that caused by a similar vehicle. Compared with a combustion-engine SUV, the carbon footprint is 80% smaller.
This vehicle will be manufactured in a 6,000 square metre facility, into which around 30 million euros will be invested over five years. Production capacity is expected to reach 15,000 units per year from 2028 onwards, and the plant will create 185 direct jobs and around 300 indirect ones. The LIUX BIG’s selling price is expected to be around 18,000 euros, initially.
