The Mercedes Formula 1 team will use an eActros 600 as a support truck
With this move, Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS reaffirms its leadership not only in sporting terms, but also in the transition towards electric mobility in the logistics sector.
The Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 team has decided to take a significant step towards sustainability in its logistics. Throughout the entire 2026 season, the team will use an all-electric Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 truck to transport one of its race trailers to the nine European rounds of the championship. In doing so, it will become the first Formula 1 team to use a fully electric heavy-duty vehicle throughout a complete season on the continent.
The eActros 600 will cover approximately 15,000 kilometres between Monaco and Madrid over the next three months. The truck has already completed its first long-distance journey, starting from the British town of Brackley and ending in Monaco, where it arrived on 1 June. In total, the eActros 600 covered 1,600 kilometres before this weekend’s Grand Prix.

During the season, the Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 will be responsible for transporting essential operational infrastructure for the team, such as the communications office and the doctor’s and physiotherapist’s rooms.
At the forefront of the transition towards electrified logistics
Logistics represents one of the biggest challenges in reducing Formula 1’s carbon footprint, which is why this trial is especially relevant. The eActros 600 features an LFP battery with 600 kWh of usable capacity, which allows it to travel at least 500 kilometres on a single charge. In addition, thanks to the MCS -Megawatt Charging System- fast-charging system, it is possible to increase the state of charge from 20 to 80 per cent in just 25 minutes.
This new assignment for the eActros 600 with the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 team is the natural continuation of the trials carried out during the 2025 season, which included a pilot trip to the British Grand Prix and the transport of W16 cars from Brackley to Zandvoort for the Dutch Grand Prix.

This initiative is, however, part of a broader sustainable logistics programme of the team, which also includes the use of HVO100 biofuel, supplied with the support of its main partner, PETRONAS.
“We are fulfilling our ambition to deploy the eActros 600 at all nine European races, which demonstrates our commitment to accelerating decarbonisation in one of the most complex areas of our operations. As a team, we aim to drive change both on and off the track.”
