SsangYong Torres Coches GLP/GNC SUV
The SsangYong Torres arrives, an SUV with 4x4 traction available with a petrol engine and an LPG option
SsangYong announces the arrival on the market of the Torres, its new 4×4 that will initially be sold with petrol and LPG engines, and that in 2024 will also have a 100% electric version-

From September, sales of the SsangYong Torres begin, the new 4×4 from the Korean brand, which marks its third launch this year, following the pick-up Musso Sports and the Korando e-Motion. The price of this 4.7-metre-long SUV starts at 31,000 euros, reaching up to 40,000 euros for the best-equipped versions.
Aesthetically, the Torres debuts a new design language that conveys the sense of robustness the brand is seeking. It feels more like an off-roader than an SUV, with very distinctive features such as the split grille with six vertical elements in the upper area, the pronounced wheel arches, the wide, sloping rear pillar, or the hexagonal-shaped trim on the tailgate, imitating the spare wheel cover that some 4x4s fit in this position. Its dimensions are 4.7 metres in length, 1.89 metres in width and 1.71 metres in height, with a wheelbase of 2.68 metres. The boot capacity is 839 litres, expandable to 1,662 litres by folding down the rear seats.
The SsangYong Torres has a ground clearance of 195 mm, with approach, departure and ventral angles of 18.2, 21.7 and 17.6 degrees, respectively, which, together with the choice between 2WD and 4WD versions, clearly demonstrates an intention to offer a car capable of driving safely and confidently beyond the tarmac.

Seven body colours are offered, named Grand White, Iron Metal, Platinum Grey, Forest Green, Cherry Red, Dandy Blue and Space Black. The alloy wheels, always alloy, can be 17, 18 or 19 inches depending on the trim level.
1.5 GDI Turbo engine and LPG option
The SsangYong Torres engine at the start of sales is a 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol with direct injection and 163 CV, which can be paired with a six-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed Aisin automatic gearbox. Four-wheel drive can only be requested in combination with the automatic gearbox. The LPG version can also be requested from launch. As with other models from the brand, this is an conversion carried out by an external company, and allows the SsangYong Torres to run on either petrol or LPG, while also granting it the ECO environmental label from the DGT. For 2024, the arrival of the Torres EVX, the 100% electric version, is expected.

In the cabin, SsangYong has opted for an almost total absence of buttons beyond those integrated into the steering wheel. The digital instrument cluster is joined by two screens: an upper one for the multimedia system, and a lower one in front of the gear lever knob to control the climate system. The top trim levels allow a choice of brown or khaki leather upholstery. The four trim levels in which it will be available all come standard with the SASS, the SsangYong Advanced Safety System, which includes automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, and fatigue and following distance warning systems.
