911 Porsche Sports Cars Videos
This is how a Porsche 911R goes from damaged to like new after a simple yet intense repair
Today we came across this video of a Porsche 911R that, after suffering an accident and being repaired, comes back to life with grandeur and majesty.
The Porsche 911R, one of those sports cars that promised to become a real investment but whose plans were cut short after the arrival of what could be considered its twin brother, the 911 GT3 Touring. The fact is that the people from Stuttgart came with a very attractive proposition: a 911 with the mechanics of the colossal GT3 RS but paired with an element that, unfortunately, is in danger of extinction: a manual gearbox. Nevertheless, the fact that the depreciation has not been as expected for the 911R does not take away from it remaining a very attractive product, and if you doubt it, just ask this young mechanic.
And so the protagonist we have here today has engaged in an auction to get hold of one of the 911 units of this very special sports car that, unfortunately, suffered an accident. At first glance it doesn’t seem too serious, and with some handyman skills and the right knowledge -and tools- you can’t repair it yourself.
Without a doubt, the worst of the damage fell on the front left wing, where both the bumper and much of the wing’s own structure were damaged. The impact also extended to the A-pillar and, due to a second blow, the rear wing suffered some damage that was transferred to the cabin after both airbags deployed.

Once the relevant parts of the 911R’s carefully preserved interior were replaced, it’s time to get to work on the exterior. Due to the damage caused by the accident, our protagonist has no choice but to replace the entire wing with a new one, while the rest of the damage is fixed using basic bodywork and paint techniques.
Little by little, we witness how this 911R regains its characteristic sumptuousness, ready to unleash its 500 CV once again. One of the most attractive points of this very special variant of the nine-eleven lies in its mechanical side, where a naturally aspirated 4.0-litre flat-six engine takes the reins, capable of dazzling any purist of four wheels.

It is true that the 911R has been overshadowed by the presence of other siblings in the range, but its good intentions in preserving the manual gearbox and its very attractive configuration make this special edition of the German sports car the dream of many, just like this unit, which has come back to life in grand style.
