Volvo V60 Polestar: Swedish, practical and very fast

Volvo has unveiled, in collaboration with the tuner Polestar, its most eye-catching, fast and effective estate. This is the V60 Polestar, which is ready to make waves in the mid-size estate segment.
The V60 Polestar is the second member of the family following the launch of the S60 Polestar a few months ago, with which it shares its platform and powertrain.
Essentially, Polestar has prepared the V60 in a very similar way to the S60, resulting in an extremely sporty vehicle, clearly differentiated from its siblings in the range and with an air of exclusivity that places it alongside major names such as Audi’s “S” family or Mercedes-Benz’s AMG models.

The V60 Polestar stands apart from standard Volvo models thanks to the addition of numerous cosmetic extras, among which the bumpers stand out, looking much more aggressive thanks to oversized air intakes. A rear spoiler and a dual-exit exhaust system further hint at a package completed by new 20-inch wheels and gloss black door mirrors.
Inside, the cabin also features distinctive details such as the instrument cluster with new information displays, sports seats, and the exclusive trim and pedals of this version. The blue accents are plentiful and can be seen in the stitching and gear lever.

The technical specification is completed by a twin-turbo inline six-cylinder engine, based on the T6 which, thanks to numerous modifications such as larger turbochargers and a higher-performance intercooler, delivers 350 CV and 500 Nm of torque. The braking system has also been upgraded, now featuring larger discs and 6-piston fixed calipers, all engineered by specialist Brembo.
All this power reaches the road through a 6-speed automatic gearbox, linked to a permanent all-wheel-drive system that makes the Volvo extremely effective in any situation, at the cost of losing the fun of rear-wheel drive.
Performance moves up a level, with an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds, while reaching 200 km/h from a standstill takes 17.7 seconds. These are figures worthy of a high-flying sports car, with the added benefit that we can still carry three bicycles, the weekly shop and the whole family.
