Which Volkswagen with CERO label can you buy in Spain: 6 electric and 5 plug-in hybrids

Volkswagen has tripled sales of its CERO-labelled DGT models, driven by its new range of plug-in hybrid vehicles, well supported by the fully electric ID range, which is gaining more and more acceptance.

Volkswagen Gama Cero Etiqueta

The Volkswagen GroupVolkswagen closed the first nine months of 2025 as the leader in electric vehicles in Europe. Of its 6.6 million customer deliveries, around 718,000 units were fully electric models, and nearly 300,000 were plug-in hybrids, representing increases of 42% and 55% respectively compared with the previous year.

In the Spanish market, Volkswagen has tripled orders for its CERO-labelled DGT model range over this period. Specifically, of the more than 6,400 plug-in vehicles that Volkswagen has registered in Spain between January and September, around 1,750 units were 100% electric models, and more than 4,600 were plug-in hybrid models. Sales growth of plug-in vehicles (PHEV+EV) in this case is 180%, driven largely by the private customer market.

And Volkswagen’s plan is to keep winning new customers who opt for plug-in vehicles. To this end, its plans include the launch in 2026 of the new ID.Polo, which will be manufactured in Martorell, and the ID.Cross, which will be produced in Landaben. For 2027, the arrival of the ID. EVERY1 is planned, which will be manufactured in Portugal, an electric city car that will become the entry point to the ID range, priced at around 20,000 euros. Also in 2027, the Sagunto battery factory will start operating.

Meanwhile, and to take advantage of the momentum — during last September, one in four cars sold in the Spanish market was electric or plug-in hybrid — Volkswagen continues to forge alliances and strengthen its range. The brand recently signed an agreement with LaLiga to be its official sponsor for the coming years, with the ID range as the star. A range that keeps growing in terms of models but has simplified its commercial offering, to which the plug-in hybrids are added to form a very complete “team” of 11 members.

The fully electric ID range from Volkswagen

Volkswagen Gama Eléctrica

With six models in its catalogue, Volkswagen’s current ID range is very complete, and once the three new models mentioned arrive, it will cover practically the entire market. All models on sale are based on the MEB platform, developed exclusively for electric vehicles.

The range starts with the compact ID.3, launched in 2020 and restyled in 2023. It is available with six trim variants, 52 kWh, 59 kWh or 79 kWh batteries, two power variants (170 hp and 326 hp), a homologated range of between 387 and up to 597 km, and its price with campaigns — and the MOVES plan without scrappage — starts from 24,800 euros.

The electric SUVs are the ID.4 and its coupé-bodied variant, the ID.5, which reached the market a year after the ID.4 and received a restyle last year. In this case you can choose between two batteries, with 77 kWh or 79 kWh, and two power levels, with 286 hp or 340 hp. The homologated range starts at 520 km with the smaller-capacity battery and reaches 560 km with the larger one. Prices start at 34,400 euros for the ID.4, and 2,700 euros more for the coupé body.

Vw Id.7 1

Volkswagen’s electric model with the longest range is the ID.7, available in saloon and Tourer versions. The saloon can cover up to 702 km on a single charge with the largest-capacity battery, 86 kWh; it can also be chosen with a 77 kWh battery, which already offers a notable 588 km of range (the figures for the Tourer are 577 km and 683 km). As with the SUVs, there are two power variants, with 286 hp or 340 hp, and prices start at 47,500 euros for the saloon and from 48,100 euros for the Tourer.

Finally, Volkswagen also offers the iconic ID.Buzz, which was launched in 2022 and in 2024 received the long-wheelbase variant with seven seats. Here the battery can be 79 kWh or 86 kWh, with the same power levels as the SUVs and the ID.7. The price starts at 46,195 euros.

The PHEV range of Volkswagen

In this case, five models make up Volkswagen’s plug-in hybrid range, all of them badged eHybrid. Four of them, the Golf, the Passat, the Tiguan and the Tayron are based on the group’s MQB platform, which for these PHEV versions has been updated with a new higher-capacity battery (up to 19.7 kWh net) and an efficient intelligent management system. The propulsion system uses the 1.5 TSI four-cylinder petrol engine with an 85 kW (115 hp) electric motor, which allows different versions to be offered, with combined outputs of 204 hp or 272 hp. In all four models, Volkswagen offers the choice between the two power variants.

In addition, all of them can charge with alternating current at up to 11 kW, and with direct current up to 50 kW. The homologated WLTP electric range always exceeds 100 km: it reaches up to 142 km in the Golf, 135 km in the Passat, 122 km in the Tiguan and 121 km in the Tayron. Prices for Volkswagen’s PHEV range — including discounts and the MOVES plan without scrappage — start from 32,200 euros for the Golf eHybrid, from 40,600 euros for the Passat e-hybrid, from 39,900 euros for the Tiguan eHybrid, and from 43,200 euros for the Tayron eHybrid.

The fifth member of the range is the Touareg eHybrid, with a 3.0 TSI V6 engine, offered in two power versions: 381 hp for the Elegance variant, and 462 hp for the Touareg R e-hybrid. In this case the battery does not support direct-current charging, and with alternating current the maximum power is 7.4 kW. The electric-mode range is 48 km. The price of the Touareg plug-in hybrid — without campaigns — starts from 76,675 euros.
