Zeekr enters the SUV segment with the 9X, its fifth model aimed at Europe

Designed in Europe for Europe, the Chinese brand Zeekr previews what will be its fifth model on our continent, the 9X, a luxury plug-in hybrid SUV

9x Villa Noclouds

Zeekr as you have probably already heard, is the luxury brand of the Geely Group. A brand that has gradually made its way into the European market with its models, and that now presents what will be its fifth addition to the lineup on our continent: the 9X, the brand’s first SUV that, from the very start, will come with a plug-in hybrid system under its bonnet.

The Zeekr 9X has been designed in Gothenburg, laying European foundations for the European public, all complemented by the use of high-quality materials. At first glance, the brand lets us see the 9X and it impresses you with its presence and, of course, its large size, something reinforced in areas such as the front with its spectacular and enormous Waterfall grille, available in black, in body colour or in chrome, presided over by the Diamond Starlight Matrix headlights that give it a unique light signature.

Its dynamic lines of great fluidity run from the front towards the side, accompanied by chrome inserts that shape elements such as the large wheel arches which, as it could not be otherwise, house large wheels with narrow profiles. The roof and shoulder lines advance smoothly and in parallel towards a rear with a large chrome surface around the D-pillar, governed in any case by a large tailgate with a raked window partially covered at its upper part by a spoiler, while a uniquely designed rear light cluster gives it an unmistakable rear light signature.

9x Interior Nappa Leather Charcoal Black

If we step inside the Zeekr 9X, we find a carefully designed interior and quality materials, ranging from the trims in Nordic wood, handcrafted, to the Nappa leather used in areas such as the seats. It also features other details that give meaning to its luxury SUV concept, such as the rotating crystal selector on the centre console, carved with a level of precision typical of fine jewellery. All of this in a spacious cabin able to carry up to 6 people and extending to its enormous boot of 677 litres, expandable to 2,148 litres with the seats folded, in addition to a towing capacity of up to 2,000 kg.

Obviously, and as it could not be otherwise, this careful interior is also accompanied by the latest technology and gadgets reserved for the luxury segment, such as a 47-inch Head-Up Display, the 13-inch anti-glare screen dedicated to the instrument cluster, or the large 17-inch 3K-resolution OLED screen located at the top, which unfolds at the press of a button to turn the rear seats into a cinema room, all while enjoying cold or hot drinks thanks to a smart fridge, plus the best sound thanks to the Naim audio system, consisting of 32 speakers, 40 amplification channels and two subwoofers.

Crystal Element

Mechanically, the Zeekr 9X relies on a plug-in hybrid system with a combined output of up to 897 CV and a 900 V architecture, together with a battery whose characteristics are still unspecified, which in DC fast charging allows it to be recharged from 10 to 80% in just 9.5 minutes, and which, pending final homologation, offers a total range of up to 737 km. Note that despite its large size, the 9X can accelerate to 100 km/h in just 4.1 seconds, and reach a top speed of 240 km/h.
