EBRO launches its fourth model in Spain, the new s900 PHEV 4x4 now has a set price

EBRO continues taking steps without haste but without pause to keep expanding its model range in Spain, something already reflected last September when they announced that its fourth model, the s900, a new plug-in hybrid SUV that arrives to position itself as the brand’s flagship following in the footsteps of the s400, s700 and s800, would soon be arriving.

The EBRO s900 is aimed at families or people looking for a very spacious SUV; in fact it can carry up to seven passengers in a 2+3+2 configuration, which it achieves thanks to generous dimensions of 4,810 mm in length, 1,920 mm in width and 1,740 mm in height, together with a wheelbase of 2,800 mm that also give it an imposing silhouette compared with the rest of the range; it also results in a spacious cabin.

Aesthetically the EBRO s900 presents itself as the most elegant vehicle of all the brand’s models, which can be seen in details such as its multi-spoke alloy wheels, the flush-fitting door handles with respect to the bodywork, or the care put into the design of the light signature of its daytime running lights and rear lights. Unfortunately the brand has not been very imaginative with the overall design, as it bears a strong resemblance, especially at the front, to its smaller sibling the s800, and also at the rear, apart from the refinement given to its lights and the lower part of the bumper.

Inside, the design does not change much either, but it is true that EBRO has worked on materials, using more leather and softer-touch plastics, so the sense of quality has been raised. This design is accompanied by screens run by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 SoC processor for the instrument cluster and the infotainment system, measuring 10.5 and 15.6 inches respectively, with the central one dedicated to functions such as navigation, connectivity, driver assistance, climate control, ambient lighting and the 540° HD camera view.

In terms of mechanics, as we already knew, the EBRO s900 debuts the T2X modular platform of the Chery Group for combustion, hybrid and extended-range electric propulsion systems. The s900 uses a plug-in hybrid system made up of three electric motors and a 1.5 TGDI petrol engine, delivering a combined peak power of 425 CV sent to all four wheels. Part of this system is the 34.46 kWh battery, which provides up to 140 kilometres in fully electric mode and more than 1,000 kilometres of total range (data pending homologation), along with a consumption of 1.68 l/100 km and 6.88 l/100 km with the battery depleted according to WLTP.

The EBRO s900 battery allows DC fast charging of up to 71 kW, so it can go from 30 to 80% of its capacity in just 25 minutes. On AC, charging power is 6.6 kW, completing a full charge in approximately 5 hours and 20 minutes. In addition, the battery features a V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) bidirectional system with which the battery energy can be used to power external devices.

The EBRO s900 can already be ordered in Spain with a special promotional campaign that sets its price at 38,990 euros and, like the rest of the brand’s models, comes with an official 7-year or 150,000-kilometre warranty, to which an extended 8-year or 160,000-kilometre coverage is added as it is a plug-in hybrid.
